He opens his mouth, but I don’t let him rebuke.

“I thought I was going to prison. I locked myself into a random hotel room and just… spiralled. I do that sometimes.”

His hand tightens around my waist. “Revea—”

“I kinda overlooked the crimesthey’dcommitted. That they’d been inside my flat, taken pictures of me asleep. I mean, who knows what else—”

“Baby, please stop.” His eyes are tightly shut, so I do.

“Sorry,” I say, “but if I had just told someone. If I hadn’t been so goddamn stubborn… I wouldn’t have gotten into the state that I did.”

“It’s over now,” he murmurs, lowering me back onto the bed. “I need you to rest a little longer, then I’ll get the guys, and we’ll explain everything. But believe me, you’re not going anywhere, Revea. Your business is safe. Everyone is fine, and when you’re better we’ll... Hey, hey, Revea, what’s wrong? Baby—”

I use all my strength to launch my arms around his neck. “Thank you,” I mumble against his shoulder. “Thank you for helping me. For coming for me.”

His strong arms slip around my waist, pulling me closer as I lean back just enough to kiss him.

“Thank you,” I whisper against his lips, once, twice, then, “I missed you.”

He pushes me back against the bed with a groan, hovering over me, his large body barely touching mine.

“I missed you so much,” he murmurs before his mouth presses to mine in a soft confession. He practically melts into me, his tongue sweeping against mine in slow, careful touches.

I want more.

My fingers grip his hair, wishing it were a little longer to tug as he successfully breaks our kiss.

I snarl softly, but he just laughs.

“So much trouble,” he murmurs, brushing his lips over mine, using one careful hand to keep me pinned to themattress by my waist. “When you’re well, I’ll give you anything you want. I’ll show you just how much I missed you.”

Oh, I like that. My omega creates a soft purr that seeps out in agreement.

He lets out a pained sound. “Revea,” he whispers, lips grazing mine as he does. “You don’t play fair, cariño.”

Just when I hope he’ll relent, a bone-shuddering purr releases from his chest.

I sink back into the mattress, eyes fighting to stay open.

The bastard.

He chuckles. I think I said that out loud, but then his purr deepens.

With his heavenly scent wrapped around me, all warm and clean from the shower, the last thing I remember is something pressed to my forehead and words murmured in a language I don’t understand.

Luciano

“Let me pass.” I glare at my brother.

He stands there with that irritatingly calm expression, which only makes me want to punch him more.

Stood in the doorway of Kaiden’s bedroom, with his big ass arms folded over his chest, acting like some type of guard.

Syl saidhe heard the shower a few hours ago, and I know damn well Val wouldn’t have left Revea’s side for a refresh.

Which means she was awake.

Which means my brother didn’t tell us.
