we’re dealing with. If it’s just another bounty hunter, we’ll take care of it nice and easy.”
Viper nodded, his hair so soft falling to cover half of his face. I’d seen the Wicked Warriors in the dark, fighting them for my life, so I didn’t have a chance to notice how good-looking and well-built
they actually were. No wonder girls went crazy over bikers, even when they reeked of beer, grease
and sweat and forgot to shave.
I knew now wasn’t the time to swoon over boys, but I was too scared to think. I needed a
distraction. “Savage,” I started when we became alone.
“Yeah?”
Tears welled up my eyes against my will. “I know you’re mad at me, but would you hold me
again?”
He ambled to the bed and sat next to me. Then his warm arms embraced me with no questions
asked.
I trembled. “You really don’t know who wants me dead?”
“All I know it’s the Italians, but not Bellomos.”
“Who then?”
“Someone from the Seppi family. Do you know them?”
I glanced up at him in confusion. “Marco Seppi was the father of Dino Seppi, the boy I was
supposed to marry. They’re both dead. As far as I know, no one is left of that family. See, Marco
Seppi was fighting Tino Bellomo over the boss seat. My father wanted allies, and he thought Seppi
was going to win. So he decided to give me to Dino in exchange of a big cut of business when Seppi
took over Chicago. Seppi agreed so he would have the Romanovs on his side when he went to war
with Bellomo.
“But after what Seppi did to Tino Bellomo’s wife, everything was ruined. Tino’s revenge was
vicious. He eradicated Seppi and his family along with anyone who had sided with them, including
the Romanovs.”
Savage looked at me as if I was a complete nutcase. “But if it’s Bellomo who killed your family,
how could you love his son?”
“Leo has always had a thing for me ever since we went to school together. I liked him, too. We
bonded over our hate for our fathers and what they did for a living. When he knew my father promised
me to Dino, he flipped and vowed to do whatever it took to save me. I was a kid, and I saw him as my
savior even though he was a kid, too.
