“Then why would anybody bother?”
Blood rushed out of her face as her gaze wandered around and her breath hitched. “Savage, I
swear I can get you the money I promised you, but you have to help me.”
Anger and confusion bubbled up, simmering in my veins. “I can’t help you without knowing the full
truth. Now. Why the fuck would anybody bother stealing your car?”
Her throat bobbed with a swallow, and her gaze hardened on me. “Because it has my DNA.
Evidence I exist. And you’re not the only bounty hunter in the country.”
“What the…” My jaws clenched so hard they could shatter. “Fuck.”
“If someone did take my car, I’m no longer safe in here, and neither are you or your men.”
“Prez?” Viper walked into the room, and I realized I didn’t close the door. “What’s she talking
about? Is someone following the bitch? Or does she have a bounty on her head, too?”
Cottonmouth joined us, but I kept my stare on her, reading what she wasn’t saying with words, but
I’d known all along. “Cookie wants a minute with you, Savage. I know it ain’t the time, but he didn’t even go home, waiting for you to wake up. He has stayed up all night in the shed and says he found
something important,” he said.
I nodded once to let him in.
Cookie hurried in, carrying his laptop and the picture of Anastasia Romanov. Panting, he glanced
between me and Sia. “Is it cool to speak here?”
“Yeah.” I had a feeling I already knew what he was going to say.
“Okay…um…look at the table in the picture. There’s a box on it. It’s only a partial, and it isn’t so
clear what it is, but I magnified it and enhanced the resolution…” He pressed a couple of buttons on
the keyboard, and then he pointed to the box. “It’s a vintage music box painted in the Gzhel style.”
My eyes narrowed at the screen. “With a dancing ballerina.”
“I swear I saw this before,” he said.
I darted a glare at Sia, who just took a deep breath and looked at her backpack. I stormed to it and
yanked the box out, fuming. “It’s because you did when you took her wallet.”
“Holy shit,” Cottonmouth said.
“Does that mean…?” Viper shook his head in disbelief, pointing at Sia. “Is she really…?”
I threw the fucking dancing piece of shit at her. “Anastasia Romanov? Yeah.Siais the real Bratva Princess everybody is looking for.”
