That wasn’t meant for him. I rolled my gaze around the room. All the boys were here, surrounding my bed. “Are you done fighting?”

Nods and grunts flew around the room.

I sat upright. “Then you listen to me, and you listen carefully. Pattison still wants the baby even if it isn’t Inferno’s.”

Malcolm was about to speak. I lifted my index finger at him. “While he was trying to tempt me to give him what he wanted, he tried to convince me none of you wanted the baby. The truth is I don’t care. I’m keeping this baby whether you want it or not.” I held the eye contact with each one of them until I was satisfied. “I don’t even care who the father is because I still want to be with the four of you, and I’m not ashamed of it. But if you are, I’ll be more than happy to raise it by myself.”

“You’re emotional right now, Sis. You can’t make those decisions just like that,” Malcolm said.

“Yes, I can. It’s not that difficult.”

“Carrying a supernatural baby while you’re human—”

“Inferno’s mother didn’t have any complications. Isabella Ferro told me vampire and human couples can have children without any problems. I think the same theory could be applied to shifters.”

“What if it’s like me?” Luke broke his silence. “Would you still want him?” His grim face told me he was opposed having the baby if it was his.

Tears touched my eyes. “You know I would.”

“And if it’s mine and got my tinge?” Carter asked, his gaze ominous.

“I will love my baby no matter what,” I answered, my voice low and firm. My eyes shifted to Slasher. “You don’t want to say anything stupid, too?”

He just stood there.

I nodded. “I didn’t expect any of you to behave differently.”

Inferno stepped forward. “Can I say something?”

My jaw flexed. “You can, but I won’t change my mind.”

“I’m not trying to change it for you, Miss Legend. All I wanna say is that every baby needs a father. I’ll be...very happy to raise the baby with you…if you will let me.”

Tears betrayed me and dropped down my face. The rest of the men glared at him.

“What’s it with the devils and the professor’s baby? If he’s mine, I’ll take care of him. You go have your own bastard.” Slasher returned his glare to me. “I will take care of him. Both of you.”

“Same here.” Carter mumbled.

“He’s lucky to have you as a mother. I’ll be honored if he is mine,” Luke said.

I glanced at Malcolm, hoping he’d finally accept my choices and make peace with them.

“I got nothing to say.” He left my side, and more tears streamed down my cheeks. “Except…we need to pay the devil a long overdue visit. Tell him to back the fuck off my sister and her baby.”

CHAPTER 42

VIXEN

CHRISTMAS NIGHT

Snow hailed outside as I stood behind the terrace. The boys had two trees up, one down the hall and one in my room. Well, I earned it. I’d lived what acted as two trimesters in two days. I had no idea the term to carry a supernatural baby was around three weeks from conception. That left me what? Another day in this hell?

I held my huge belly, trying not to think about the stretch marks such a swift development would leave. My back was killing me. My breasts were on fire. My appetite was embarrassing and scary. I might have eaten ten cows in the past couple of days. “Why do you have to grow so fast? Don’t you know your mama is only human, little thing? Or things?”

They had to be twins. This size couldn’t be of just one baby. Unless it’s Slasher’s. Had you seen the size of that man? His child would be fifteen pounds at birth.

I cringed. Pushing a baby that size from my human vagina. I almost cried.
