He nodded once. “Got you.”
When I returned back to my office, Russell was getting all cute with his skinny bitch, holding hands and rubbing their noses together in an Eskimo kiss. What were they, five?
The sight gave me heartburn. Every time I looked at these two together, I didn’t feel jealous. I felt a venomous bitterness eating me up from the inside out. It was so consuming that I wanted to do nothing but hurt and destroy.
Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.
Huh? My conscience awakes! Where have you been? I missed you. Well, not so much. I kinda needed you, though, when I watched my brother’s best friend getting a blowjob.
And when I was letting his other friend give me a mind shattering orgasm.
And when I was fantasizing about my student, who is also his friend.
I think you should get back to sleep because I’m not backing down on Twatwaffle Russell.
“Vixen.”
I hated my name, but hearing it from Russell gave it a new level of gripe. I drew a spiteful smile on my face as he walked toward me hand in hand with his fiancé. “Russell. Kate.”
“I saw you this morning coming to work on one of your boyfriend’s friends’ motorcycles,” she said and flashed her teeth.
I picked something in her tone. “And?”
“Do you like those?”
I smirked. “Motorcycles? Very much. I’m considering getting one myself. Why? You don’t like them?”
“Nooo.” She scrunched her nose, cringing. “They’re very dangerous and irresponsible, so are the boys who ride them.”
Russell stirred, and my head tilted as a knowing grin replaced my ugly one. “You know what, Kate? I totally agree. Did you know your fiancé used to be a biker?”
“Really?” she squeaked in shock.
I nodded emphatically. “He was in a club and everything. But you know what? He never invited me to any of the club parties he was so adamant about attending. He never missed a week.” I looked from her to him. “I used to be so mad about it, but now, that I had been to one, I knew he was just doing the right thing. Who would bring their fiancé to a place where girls ran naked, offering blowjobs and their vaginas to everyone?”
“No way,” she gasped.
“Can you believe it?” I feigned shock. “All the bikers got some on those parties. No exceptions. Except at this party, no one was married, engaged or had a permanent girlfriend. So you can’t call those guys, at least, irresponsible.” I shifted my gaze at Russell, who was fiddling with his tie, unable to look me in the eye.
“You’re right.” Kate’s skin matched her dark red lipstick as she glared at him. “Excuse me, I…need to head to class.”
“Kate,” he called after her, but she vanished in the halls. He turned to me, the devil in his eyes. “A word.”
I shrugged and led him into my office. He slammed the door shut before I got to my seat. “What the hell are you doing? If you think for one moment you can waltz in here, say shit to my fiancé to break us up so I’d get back to you, you’re way out of your mind. Save your breath, Reindeer. Kate or no Kate, I will never want to be with someone like you ever again.”
I mocked with a giggle. “Oh my God. You seriously need help. I know a great therapist in Portland. She’s wonderful.”
“Are you speaking from experience? Is she the one who got you back on your feet after your breakdown when I dumped you at the wedding?”
My heartbeat pulsed in my ear, but I kept my hard face on. “Yes. She helped me see how naive I was to ignore all your flaws, to forgive your lies and infidelities, to pretend you were a good man that was worth giving everything I had. With her insight, I saw you for who you really were and understood I was worthy of much more than a toxic boy like you ever had to offer.”
“But I do have so much to offer, Reindeer, for a woman like Kate, not for someone too ugly,” he raked me from head to toe, “and I don’t just mean on the outside.”
My jaws clenched so hard I felt they would shatter. “Get out.”
“I will. But before I go, here’s afriendlywarning. I don’t think Damien will be pleased to know his prodigy is a biker chick, taking it from the whole club, especially when those bikers are her students, and she has no shame parading it on campus, coming to work and leaving on their bikes like that.” He opened the door. “Keep that in mind the next time you decide to overshare.”
