“Not for this nightclub, trust me, you’re going to want to wear the dress.”
She kissed him on the lips and rushed outside to go to the dress he had left.It was hung from one of the pictures in the center. It was a red dress he just knew was going to look stunning on her.
“I’ll be waiting for you,” he said, kissing her cheek.“Don’t make me wait too long.”
All he wanted to do was fuck her in every single room of the apartment.Instead, he was going to take her out dancing.Jane had to be stuck here all day and night. The only time she had been out in the last two weeks was to visit the hospital, in disguise.Tonight, she could just leave the apartment and be herself.
He pulled out his cell phone and saw a message from Makar, saying Nikolai was making himself at home. There was also a warning that Nikolai was loving this attention.Alexey laughed. He had no doubt their friend was lapping this shit up.He loved to be the center of attention, even though at times he pretended not to.
Alexey glanced down at his watch to see ten minutes had passed and Jane stepped out of the room. She had curled her hair. She had asked him several times over the past few months if she could get it cut.She didn’t like that the goons that attacked her were able to use her long hair to their advantage.
He didn’t allow her to cut it.No one was going to be hurting her by pulling her hair.No one was going to hurt her again. He was going to protect her.
“How do I look?”she asked.
“You look stunning.”
The dress fell to her knees, and she looked stunning. It showed off her curves, and he loved to see her body.He couldn’t keep his hands off her.She had also run a little lipstick on her lips and even applied a little blush to her cheeks. She looked radiant. It was her eyes that pooled him in.
Jane acted all tough, like she could handle anything that was thrown at her, but he knew differently. He knew there was more to her than she wanted anyone to know. There was an insecurity. He got it.All her life, she had been passed up for other people, prettier people.Jane was not the most beautiful woman, but Alexey was drawn to her like a moth to a flame.
He couldn’t seem to keep his thoughts from always coming back to her.No woman had ever made him feel this way.She was different.Of course she was always going to be different. No woman had ever killed a man to protect him, and that was before she even knew who he was.
“Do I look okay?”she asked.
“Stunning.”He held his arm out for her to take.“Would you like me to walk you out?”
She laughed.“Why not?”She slid her hand in his, and he walked her out of his apartment. His men knew to look the other way. They made their way toward the elevator and stepped inside. He looked at her reflection in the elevator doors. She did look beautiful.
They were silent as they made their way toward the parking lot.His men were waiting with his designated car for the evening. For Jane’s protection and extra privacy, he made sure the windows were blacked out.Even though he doubted Vincent would be able to attack tonight, he was not willing to take any risks.
He helped her into the back of the car and closed the door behind him.Jane let out a breath.“This all feels so strange ...going out, all dressed up.”
He chuckled.
“Did you have a good day?”Jane asked.
Alexey had come to notice she asked him this often.
“Yeah, it was a good day to finally get Nikolai out of the hospital. He said when he comes to stay with us, he expects breakfast in bed and wants you to make him anything he desires.”
Jane laughed.“Maybe I should force him to wear that sweater I made you.”
Alexey thought about it but then shook his head.“Fuck, no, that sweater is mine.”
She shook her head.“It’s a horrible sweater and has so many holes in it.I must have dropped a stitch or two.”
“Don’t know and I don’t care. That is mine, and I’m not letting you give it to anyone else.”
He loved her laugh.
The drive to the nightclub was not long. There was a line of people waiting to get inside. He put his hand to Jane’s back and urged her forward. The bouncer on the door moved aside. This was his nightclub and no one was going to make him stand in line to get in.Once inside, he captured her hand and took her straight to the VIP section.
His own personal booth was always empty, so he helped her into the booth, then turned to a passing waitress and ordered them a couple of drinks. His guards had already moved to be stationed around the nightclub.
Heavy music filled the air.It was loud, but he watched Jane as she looked around, and he noticed she bobbed her head in time to the music.
The waitress returned with their drinks. They were not opened, and he thanked her and pushed her away.
