“Relax. It’s going to be fine.” He took the glass from me and then sat it down beside him in a cup holder before he took my hand and held it tightly. I managed to calm down, but that didn’t stop him from holding my hand the entire flight. By the time we landed in Chicago’s Midway airport, I’d fallen asleep on his shoulder and he gently nudged me awake. “Time to get up, bella mia.”

I lifted my head and gasped, hoping I didn’t drool on his expensive suit. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to sleep on you.”

“I always expect you to sleep on me. It would be my greatest pleasure.”

“Well, almost my greatest pleasure. I am sure there will be other things we will enjoy much more.” He lifted his brows and then leaned in for a gentle kiss on my forehead.

When he led me down the plane steps I nearly fell because my uncle was waiting by the large black SUV. “Uncle Joey,” I squealed. I caught myself, remembering we were in public, but he still picked me up in his arms.

“Welcome to Chicago, sweets.” His eyes lifted over my head and then I felt Elio’s hand smoothly glide along my back. They quickly spoke in Italian, something I didn’t think my uncle could speak. The only thing I could make out was sweet or candy. I’m not sure which it meant, but I was assuming it was referring to me.

“Well, not that you two are done being rude, can we go?” I huffed.

“Rude. Yes, you quickly switched languages knowing I didn’t speak it to shut me out, so rude. It would have been different if I walked in on the conversation, but I was clearly right here.”

“God, are you sure about this?”

“She thinks if she keeps getting sassy that it will change things, but it will only speed things up.”

Chapter Seven

Elio

I enjoyed the look of despair on Joey’s face when I talked about fucking Ana. Damn, it made me laugh. The prick really thought I wasn’t good enough for his niece, like she had a ton of better options. No one was going to treat her better, or give her more than I could. My sweet Ana was already attracted to me, so as long as I didn’t kill Joey, I was certain her love wouldn’t be hard to earn one day.

We made the drive to my private property in the Western suburbs and all the way there I couldn’t stop myself from caressing Ana. Every little touch teased what was to come. The moment we pulled up to the front of the property, her body stiffened against mine. She wanted the same thing I did, but her nerves were making her afraid. I ran on pure adrenaline and lust right now. If I didn’t have an audience, she would have ridden my dick all the way home.

Joey opened the door for us, and I exited first, taking her hand in mine as I helped her out. “Welcome to your new home.”

“It’s gorgeous.”

“Thank you.” I held her close as I led her up the steps.

“Everyone can leave us,” I commanded the moment my housekeeper Willa opened the front doors. “My fiancée and I need complete privacy.” Again, the look on Joey’s face was almost comical if it wasn’t annoying. Anger, disgust, and sadness. I suppose if I had a daughter I’d feel that way, but I didn’t and she wasn’t his daughter, so he could go fuck off.

“Amore, please tell your uncle good night.”

“Goodnight. I’ll see you tomorrow?” She said it as a question, turning to me for approval.

“Of course, you’re not a prisoner, Ana. Besides, we have some wedding preparations to make.”

Her face immediately contorted into a frown full of suspicion, but that was fine. She’d eventually trust me. All I needed from her was her pleasure and happiness. All the other good things would come in time.

“Now, everyone, get the fuck out,” I ordered.

“Do you want the chef out as well?” my housekeeper asked.

“Everyone. Security stays on the perimeter if necessary, but no one in my home,” I reiterated.

I closed the door on everyone who was outside because I was fucking serious about being alone with my fiancée. I didn't bother to show her around the house. That could wait until later. Right now, I needed to make her mine before I lost my mind. Wrapping her up in my arms, I carried her up the stairs two at a time until I reached our bedroom and slammed the door shut behind us.

“You're wasting no time.”

“We’ve wasted a whole day,” I replied before crushing my lips onto hers. I sat her on the bed and pulled off her shoes, tossing them across the room where her socks followed. She had adorable little toes that she wiggled with a bit of shyness. Soon they’ll be curling for me. I growled and tipped her chin, leaning in for another kiss. “You’re so beautiful.”

“Thank heavens for that, or my uncle would be dead. If it makes you feel better, I could kill him and still keep you.”

“Oh my goodness, no, please don’t.” She pressed her hands to her mouth. I pulled her hand away and brought it to my lips, giving it a tender kiss.
