But I couldn’t blame Aeon. I was watching Alexa as well. I will admit I was terrified she might do something that would put Nadia and our pup in great danger. This night’s dinner was the only time I had warriors standing around us in the dining hall. I didn’t care what everyone would think. I didn’t want to take a risk.

“I’ll send someone to drive your car back.” Aeon’s words snapped me back to the present. We were standing by the steps while Nadia and Jenny were still inside the packhouse, packing some food they could take for the travel, while Alexa was already on the grounds, surrounded by two of my men and Beta Dominic.

“Sounds good. Dominic will drive behind you just to make sure you’ll drive out of my territory.”

“Are you fucking scared she would run away and go on a killing spree here?”

“No. I’m more concerned that she has some hidden power and will kill you soon. Well, she can, but not in my territory.”

“Fuck off.” He chuckled.

“You fuck off and concentrate on your fucking goals because I suspect you’re lusting after this female.” There, I said it.

“What? No way.” He let out a smug smirk as he shook his head.

“Just my thoughts. Prove me wrong then.”

“Alpha Aeon…” Our conversation was cut short by the sweet voice of my female.

“Luna Nadia,” he bowed at my Luna as Nadia slid her arm around my back and snuggled on my side.

“Are you planning to kill Alexa?”

Whoah. I chuckled at Nadia’s question. That was straightforward.

“No.”

“Are you just saying that because it was me asking?”

“No.”

“Okay. Can you make sure she stays alive?”

“Yes.”

“I will visit her in two weeks. If I find her dead, what should I do with you?”

My eyebrows raised. Where did she get the idea that I would allow her to visit Aeon’s territory?

“Are you making a pact with me?”

“Yes.”

“Wow. So what do I get from this?”

“Nothing. I want you to honor your word, Alpha Aeon.”

“Nadia, if the rogue becomes a threat to his pack, eliminating her is the smartest choice,” I told her as I pressed her body closer to mine.

“It needs to be proven that she is. Not just hearsay or whatnot. I’m not good at reading people, but I don’t think she wanted to be who she is. She might just be in a bad place like I was. But it looks like she’s in a far worse place than I was.”

“I’ll keep that in mind. But you have my word, I will not harm her or kill her.”

“Will you protect her from your father?”

“My father will not touch her. He gave me his words.”

“Again, Alpha Aeon, will you protect her from your father?” Nadia’s voice was raised slightly, and I could hear determination and authority in it.
