“It was fun for me,” Megan said.
“And me,” Jeff said.
“Honey, let’s let them have their moment,” Noah said, taking Jessa by the shoulders and guiding her away from them.
“How long are you here?” Jeff asked.
“For as long as you want me,” Megan said.
“Really?”
Megan nodded, tears springing to her eyes. She didn’t realize how happy it would make her to be near him, but here she was getting emotional knowing she had found her person.
Jeff dipped his head and kissed her, devouring her mouth with his. Megan didn’t know how long it lasted before someone cleared their throat. They pulled apart and looked toward everyone who was still watching them.
“Um, the food is getting cold,” Miles said.
Karen clapped her hands together. “Let’s eat.”
Everyone walked toward the kitchen to dish up their plates, except for Jeff and Megan, who stayed in each other’s arms a moment longer.
“Merry Christmas,” Megan whispered.
Jeff smiled. “Merry Christmas. Did you have a Christmas wish this year?”
“You. You were my Christmas wish.”
“And you were mine.”
