“I,” Nothing’s gonna stop us now by Starship starts to playover the speakers. “Shut up.” My sopping footsteps leave a trail of water on the floor as I walk away.

Reaching for my phone, I log onto Facebook and see post after post flooding my feed. I’m forced to sit down and scroll through the endless notifications. “Aiden!” I call out; he’s hovering in the doorway within seconds, his face still half-covered in shaving foam. “What’s wrong?”

“Do you have anything you want to tell me?” At least he has the decency to feign surprise. He shakes his head, a look of confusion crossing his features. “What do you mean?”

“I mean this,” I shove the phone at him, and he takes it, scrolling through the posts. “Oh, that’s your one from Liam’s party, right?”

“Aiden,” He fucking did it, didn’t he. “Did you have anything to do with this?”

“I don’t hurt women, bug,” he says, handing the phone back to me.

“That’s not what I asked; I asked if you had anything to do with her death.” My towel falls to the floor as I jump to my feet. I swear, if he dares lie to me, I’m going to punch him in his perfectly structured jawline.

“How would I—”

“Don’t even attempt to answer my question with another question! You have the ways and the means, I’ve seen the syringes, Dumbass!”

A smirk slowly spreads across his face; he opts to stay silent, his eyes never leaving mine.

“Oh my God, it was you.” I’m not even upset; I’m pissed that I didn’t see it coming. “Those “phone calls” you were making all around the same time Sarah went out for a smoke.”

His grin only widens, revealing a set of perfectly white teeth. “You’re really perceptive, bug; you know that, right?”

“Aiden!”

“Technically, I didn’t kill her,” he says, folding his arms across his chest and leaning against the wall. “She drank herself to death. Fitting really.”

“She had children,” I remind him.

He merely shrugs. “They’ll be better off without that tramp.”

“You really don’t care, do you?”

“Not particularly, no,” his eyes glint with twisted amusement. “She was just as much of a sexual predator as every other I put down. She raped you, bug! She let her fiancé do whatever the fuck he wanted to you while you were fighting to stay conscious.”

“I know what they did!” I screech like a banshee.

He pushes off the wall and steps closer, his face inches from mine. “Then why are you upset about her?”

“I’m not upset about her; I’m—” Fuck, I’m just as demented as he is.

“What, bug? You’re what?” He reaches for me, tugging me into his arms. “You’re upset that I kept it from you?”

I nod, feeling the weight of his arms around me. There is a gnawing ache in my chest that won’t go away, no matter how tightly he holds me. I have to ask. “Did you kill Keane too?” Tilting my head back, I look into his darkened eyes.

“That depends,” His breath is warm against my skin. “Are you going to be mad at me if I say yes?”

“Aiden…” I close my eyes, groaning inwardly. “What did you do to him?”

He shrugs again. “I took away his teeny weenie.”

“Aiden!” I push away from him, feeling a mix of frustrationand amusement. I seriously need to seek professional help.

“Don’t “Aiden” me; he’s the reason I can’t eat cheese anymore,” he counters. “I’m fucking traumatised after dealing with that scruffy bastard.” His face is a picture of sincerity, which makes me laugh all the more.

“You’re impossible,” I don’t know if I should continue to laugh or switch to crying at this point. He has killed these people… for me.

“They hurt you, bug,” he says softly, pulling me back against him, shaving foam brushing my cheek. “They had to pay.”
