Still no answer. He put the phone in his pocket, turned on the truck and put the pedal to the metal.
Of course it took him longer than he expected. He got pulled over twice. Two tickets for speeding. The second cop asked if there was an emergency.

“No, sir,” he said, holding out his hand for the ticket.
“Take it easy,” the cop said. “No more speeding.”
“Will do.”
That was a lie. As soon as the cop was out of range he floored it again. Somehow he made it the rest of the way without another ticket.
