The next dayI spent most of my time glancing down at my phone, hoping that Finn would call or text. I felt like an idiot, but he had really done a number on me.

After running with Dozer twice and not seeing Finn in the park, cleaning my apartment again even though it didn’t really need it, and giving Dozer a bath, I decided that it was time to stop waiting for him to contact me.

Me: Have a safe flight, Sir Wallace.

Finn: Just boarded. There’s an empty seat next to me, wish you were here.

How cheesy can one guy be?

Me: I’ll see you when you get back. We’ll make up for lost time.

Way too forward. What is wrong with you, Joey?

Finn: Can’t wait.

I started to flip through the channels of terrible daytime television when my cell buzzed on the coffee table. Brett’s face was smiling bright on my screen.

“Hello?”

Brett’s cheery voice came through the other line. “Lunch in fifteen?”

“Sure. Sounds great.”

Brett and I decided to order Chinese and lounge in my apartment instead of going out. Fifteen minutes later on the nose, Brett walked into my apartment and the tantalizing smell of General Tso chicken wafted into the air.

“Alright, girly. Spill.” Brett was barely in the front door and he was already diving into the third degree.

Taking the bags from him and returning to the living room, I took a deep breath. “Let’s have a little wine first.”

“That good? Or that bad?” Brett went into the kitchen and grabbed the wine out of the fridge and glasses from the cabinet. I just smiled at him.

We sat Indian style around the table, eating with our chopsticks right out of the takeout containers. After a few sips of wine and delicious pieces of spicy chicken, Brett forced a cough. “I’m waiting pretty patiently over here.” With a wink he popped a snow pea into his mouth.

“Fine.” I couldn’t help the smile that sprang onto to my lips as my cheeks and neck tingled with blush.

“Oh, this is going to be good.”

I nodded. “He’s pierced.”

Brett sat up straighter, setting down his to go box. “Like Prince Albert or Jacob’s Ladder?”

“Like right through the head on the top.”

Brett’s face turned a bright crimson as he pictured Finn’s manhood in all its jeweled glory. “How amazing is it?”

“Simply perfect.He’sperfect.”

“Wow. I never thought I’d see the day or that it would happen this fast.”

“What?” Dozer started to nudge me, begging for a piece of chicken.

“That you’d fall for someone. I always pictured us being roommates and having five dogs in the Village.”

I threw my napkin at him. “That’s mean. Besides, you have your sexy couchmate bus boy to settle down with.”

Brett pursed his lips. “He got fired and I had to kick him out.”
