Lynx raises an eyebrow. “Bet that went down well.”

“Yeah.” I sigh. “So much has happened over the past few weeks, being here seems normal to me now. I forgot that Ash doesn’t know any of it. Of course he’s going to wonder what the fuck’s going on.”

He reaches for my hand. “The two of you have got a lot to talk about.”

I bite my lip and he tugs me close. “He’s going to be so pissed off when he finds out the truth.”

“You can’t blame him.”

“I know. But can’t say I’m looking forward to it, either.” Ash is my brother in everything but blood. The thought of hurting his feelings makes me feel sick.

“Hey.” Lynx cups my jaw and tilts my chin up. “He’ll understand. It might take a while to get his head around everything, but you love each other, right?”

I nod. “We’re family.”

“Then it’ll be okay.”

I really fucking hope he’s right.

EPILOGUE

LYNX

“You sure about this?”Callum asks, sitting next to me on the steps in front of the house.

It’s the same thing he asked me when I stupidly thought sending Morgan away was a good idea. And my answer is pretty much the same one I gave him then.

“Nope.”

He laughs.

Morgan glances over his shoulder and rolls his eyes, because unlike last time, he can now hear everything we say. Even though he’s a good thirty feet away.

Callum nudges my shoulder. “Do you trust Ash?”

“I don’t know him well enough for that. But I trust Morgan’s judgement. And that’s good enough for me.” I know Morgan heard that because I get a wave of warmth through our bond. It makes me smile, and Callum sighs.

His gaze flicks from me to Morgan. “I didn’t think a bond was something I ever wanted, but got to say, I’m a little jealous with how sickeningly happy you two are.” There’s a wistfulness to hisvoice, a hint of longing in his scent, and it’s enough to make me turn to face him.

“There’s no reason why you can’t have this too.”

He scoffs. “Yeah, right.”

“I’m serious.”

Another sigh. “I know you are, but we don’t exactly meet a lot of new shifters, unless we rescue them from fight rings. And Nico aside, they don’t tend to stick around.”

I raise an eyebrow.

“No.”

“Why not?”

He nudges me again, harder this time, so I almost fall off the step. “As cute as Nico is, I like my men a little bigger, rougher around the edges. And I’m pretty sure Nico already has his eye on someone.”

Yeah, I think he’s right about that. I don’t get chance to ask him to explain, though, because there’s movement at the gate.

Ash has arrived.
