Still floating on a wave of pure bliss, I wasn’t expecting it when Rys extracted his teeth and cupped my jaw, his gentle touch a shock after the fierce intensity of what we’d just experienced.

He was still hard inside me, the strain of not coming etched into his features. I frowned.

“You need to bite me,” he gritted out, words slightly slurred as he spoke around his fangs. Blood smeared his lips and I had the strongest urge to lick them.

So I did.

Rys whined, his eyes snapping shut, his whole body coiled tight. “Gabriel.”

He sounded close to shattering.

“Where,” I whispered, a deep-longing rearing inside me. I didn’t have fangs, but I swore my teeth ached with the sudden need to bite down on his skin, to claim him and tie him to me in a way so primal it hurt.

“Here.” He bared his throat, tapping a spot just above his collarbone, and my mouth watered, my cock stirring with renewed life at the thought of it. “Now.” He whined again, rolling his hips and pushing into me with slow, deep strokes this time that felt so fucking good it took me a moment to focus.

Claws dug into my shoulders, the dull ache left from his bite throbbing with each beat of my heart, and I took a deep breath, gaze locked on the spot he’d shown me.

I bit him.

Hard.

The second I tasted blood, he tipped his head back and roared as his whole body went rigid.

I felt his orgasm hit, not just inside me as he came, but everywhere, like his pleasure was mine. My toes curled, fingers clinging tight to his back as wave after wave hit me and my breath came in short sharp gasps.

Warmth bloomed in my chest, white light filling my vision for a split second before disappearing just as quickly until only a steady hum remained, tucked back behind my ribcage.

I knew what that was.

Our bond.

A soul-deep connection tying us together for life.

I should’ve probably been freaking out right then, but all I felt was a contentment I’d never experienced before.

Beautiful in its simplicity.

Rys was mine.

And I was his.

And at that moment, it was all that mattered.

Rys

I woke early.

The warm body curled into my side pulled a soft smile from me, and I took a moment to enjoy the steady thrum of the bond tying us together.

Our bond.

Claiming Gabriel was reckless, selfish, and most likely ill-advised.

It was also the best decision I’d ever made.

I kissed the top of his head, closing my eyes and breathing in his scent. The subtle difference in it stirred the wolf inside me.
