Pack.
Family.
Movement inside the cave caught his attention, and when he sat back and opened his eyes, Cole, Aaron, and Smith stood in front of them.
Michael let go of Logan and stood, waiting for one of them to speak.
Aaron gave him a small smile, hesitant, but there, nevertheless. “Logan’s right. We should’ve thanked you for saving us. I’m sorry it took me till now to do it, but thank you.”
Cole murmured his thanks too, and Michael failed to hide his surprise. Out of all of them, Cole was the one he still expected to hate him. “I’m still not over being forced to join your pack, but now that I know who you really are and what you’ve given up to save us...” He shrugged. He didn’t ask Michael to still be his alpha and Michael didn’t push it. The fact Cole didn’t hate him was more than enough.
Smith cleared his throat, and Michael looked at him. “You’re still my alpha too,” he muttered.
“And mine,” Aaron added.
Michael’s smile spread wide, and he pulled them both towards him, feeling lighter than he had since they’d left London. “Thank you,” he whispered. “You have no idea what this means to me, and I promise there will be no more lies, no secrets.”
“This doesn’t mean you have to bite us again, does it?” Aaron grumbled. “Because that shit hurt.”
Michael laughed as he let them both go. “I have no idea. Having pack members escape with me wasn’t something I planned for.” He frowned, trying to sort out how he felt inside. “You still feel like mine. That hasn’t changed.”
“That’s good enough for me.” Aaron stepped back and rolled his shoulders. “Now all we need is Paul and his team to fuck off so we can plan our revolution.”
Michael glanced upwards, wondering for the hundredth time what was happening up there.
