“Just gone six o’clock.”
Michael gaped at him.I’ve slept all day. After waking once for a quick shower and a shave, he must’ve fallen back to sleep for hours. “Fuck, why didn’t you wake me earlier?”
“Because you needed the rest. I thought we already went through this?”
“The others?” Michael hated the thought that they were all waiting on him and he’d spent the whole bloody day in bed.
“Have all eaten, had some fresh air, and are relaxing either in their rooms or somewhere else in the house.” Isaac pushed the tray towards him, and Michael glanced down at the array of bread, meat, and cheese on the plate. “Eat. Then we can take a walk down to the sea. There’s something I need to talk to you about.”
“Oh?” Michael paused as he started to make himself a sandwich. “Can we not talk about it now?”
Isaac chuckled softly. “No. I’d rather not be in a confined space for this conversation.”
Intrigued and slightly concerned, Michael tucked into the food, all the while wondering what Isaac could possibly have to say that he didn’t already know.
