“You deserve that for making me worry!”

She grins at me and I grin back … and then we both let loose with a barrage of snowballs, flinging them at each other until we’re out of breath. I launch my final snowball and it hits her in the chest. She allows herself to fall back dramatically, flinging her body into the snow and star-fishing her arms and legs. Her chest rises and falls with her harsh breaths as she starts moving her limbs in a frantic rhythm.

“What the hell are you doing?” I call.

“Making snow angels,” she answers matter-of-factly. “Come over here and join me.”

I push to my feet and stumble toward her, still panting. Despite the highway behind us, the world’s gone silent, and I’m overcome with a feeling of peacefulness as I stand over her in the quiet night and the snowfall.

Her parka is stretched adorably over her protruding bump and even in the dim light from a nearby lamp, I can tell that her cheeks are rosy red.

My dick presses painfully against my cold zipper.

Lucy laughs. She laughs and laughs, and it rings out around the tiny clearing. And seeing her there, spread-eagle and smiling wide, laid out before me on a bed of snow glittering silver in the soft moonlight …

She brings me to my knees.

Both literallyandfiguratively as I collapse partially on top of her and claim her mouth with a desperate groan.

Noah:Yep. I woke you with a kiss … and then I kissed you goodbye.

Lucy:Awe ?

Lucy:I must have fallen back asleep, though, because I just woke up to cold sheets :-(

Noah:Sorry, baby.

Noah:I had to get up early to put a couple of hours in on this case before I head to my parents for their stupid brunch thing. Since I skipped Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve with them, I can’t get out of this one. But believe me, I’ll be wishing I was there with you instead.

Lucy:Me too

???

Noah:So … did you see that our baby is now officially the size of a spaghetti squash?

Lucy:Yes! And also, we hit 26 weeks–on the 26th!

Noah: Okay …?

Lucy:I feel like it’s a special date

Lucy:You know, like cosmic, or something. At least that’s what my abuela would say.

Noah: …typing
