Lucy:I meant the name. I like it. You don’t hear it too often.

Noah:I highly doubt you’re ‘Laughing Out Loud’ right now.

Lucy:**eye roll**

Lucy:It’s not meant to be taken literally, it’s just a means of expressing my amusement

Noah:I’m well aware, but I still think it’s a ridiculous acronym.

Lucy:Like the emojis?

Noah:Yes, exactly, like emojis. They’re ridiculous. Anyway, it’s misleading.

Lucy:Ha. Ha. Is that better?

Noah:I guess. Don’t even get me started on ROTFL–nobody does that.

Lucy:I’ve definitely rolled on the floor laughing before.

Noah:Somehow, I can see that.

Noah:But I highly doubt you did it while texting.

Lucy:Okay, fine, whatever. Let’s get back to Nell

Noah:Hmmm. Yeah, it is kind of unique. And pretty.

Noah:A little old-fashioned, though.

Lucy:Old-fashioned baby names are totally in these days.

Noah: If you say so.

Lucy:I do

Noah:Okay, we’ll put Nell on the list.

Lucy:There’s a list?

Noah:I’m starting one right now.

Lucy:LOL

???

I smell him before I see him. I know that sounds crazy but my sense of smell has become seriously heightened. And despite the yeasty-cinnamony aroma coming from the ovens in the back, I’ve become entirely attuned to Noah’s scent. It wafts ahead of him into the room and my heart immediately skips a beat. I raise my eyes from my computer to find him leaning in the doorway to my office smiling, all dimpled and delicious.

I take a moment to sweep my eyes over his tall frame. He’s so sturdy and manly and–ugh, I want him bad. Heat starts pooling low in my belly and the cotton grannie panties that I’m wearing (yeah, that’s my new reality) become instantly wet.

“Hey,” he says, and his voice is a little more raspy than normal.

“Hey,” I respond, casting him a soft smile.

“Are you busy right now?”

“Actually, I’m just about caught up, why?”

Noah almost looks shy when he says, “I’m not on shift until tonight. I was wondering if you wanted to take a walk with me.”
