She smiled. “God, I cannot wait for a new bed.”
We spent the afternoon online shopping for different bed frames, mattresses, dressers, and even decor. Luckily, since I paid for repairs, she had extra spending money to get what she needed, even though I would’ve bought it. Tucker and I ordered our own things to keep at her house for when we stayed the night here.
When all was said and done, we ordered a gluten-free pizza and sat around the living room talking.
“What are we doing for Thanksgiving? I don’t really care much for celebrating the people who ruined the lives of so many.”
I nodded in agreement with her comment. “I get that. We could just have a game night or something. Play some video games and make some food. We can invite everyone over; it’s been a while since we've all gotten together. It could be basically a normal day, just with better food.”
Tucker smiled. “I think it would be nice to get to know your siblings better, too. I know I’ve met them a handful of times, and we did dinner that one time, but it would be nice to talk to them more. And Dax seems like a good person. I’d love to meet him.”
Harper nodded in silent agreement. “We could do it here. I think Dax needs us, but doesn’t want to ask for help, and with Reed being so busy with Wren, I worry he may feel forgotten. I think this would be good for him, too.”
“I think doing it here is a good idea. Your house is more open than mine, so it’ll be nice. We will invite everyone, including Dax, and make it a potluck-type event.” I suggested.
“This’ll be fun,” Tucker said with a crooked smile on his face.

After looking at furniture online and measuring spaces for her, Harper had a dresser, bed frame, and mattress on the way. I told her we could just pick them up, but she insisted on purchasing things online. Although the walls weren't painted yet, she chose a black bed frame with gold accents. It had a headboard with a charging station and extra storage for clothes. It was a California King, so when Cam and I stayed over, we could be comfortable in one bed.
One thing about our girl is that she loved to spend money, but for the most part, spent it on other people. Watching her splurge on herself tugged at my heartstrings. She deserved this. With her new job and just a few weeks of school left, she needed this.
We got ready to head back to Cam’s, but drove separately. I walked them back to Cam’s car.
“Drive safely, please,” I said, pressing a kiss to his cheek, causing him to blush.
“Tuck, it’s right around the corner. We will be fine.” Cam’s voice was laced with admiration. The way he looked at memade my heart stutter. He pressed a chaste kiss to my lips, opened his car door, and got in, closing the door behind him.
I walked over to Harper, who was leaning against the passenger door.
Her pretty brown eyes landed on mine. “I’ll see you in a bit, Sugar.”
She wrapped her arms around me. Her face was slightly pressed into my chest, causing her words to be muffled. “I love you, Tucker.”
I pulled her back slightly in shock. I held her face between my rough hands, searching her eyes for any signs of regret. When I found none, I kissed her and responded against her lips. “I love you too, Harper.” We hugged for a bit longer, then I pressed a kiss to the crown of her head, and she headed into Cam’s car.
I waved as they drove off and headed back into Harper’s house. I packed up my tools and grabbed the keys to my truck, locking up behind me. I figured it would be a good idea for me to stop by my apartment for a shower before heading over.
I got into my truck, relishing the fact that I didn’t have to get a running start to hop into it. As much as I missed my truck, it was just too high off the ground. Plus, this black Toyota Tundra suits me better. I couldn’t wait for my loves to ride in it.
As I settled into my car, my phone went off. I never kept it on silent because of how often I misplaced my phone. Harper had created a group chat with Cameron, and I then added Wren, Reed, and Dax. She named it the Cove-Certified Trash. I swear the woman thought she was still in her late teens. Even going so far as to say, “I’m just a girl,” when she didn’t understand something.
Princess: hey, assholes. we want to get everyone together at my house for a game night next week, on Saturday. let me know if you’re interested!! if need be, you are welcome to crash in the living room, but it’ll be B.Y.O.B., aka bring your own bed. let me know asap! also, reply to this with your name. tucker won’t know who anyone is.
Wren: You know Reed and I will absolutely be there!! NO MONOPOLY. If we play, I am not responsible for my actions.
Wren: Oh, also, this is Wren.
Wren responded almost immediately. Those girls had an unheard-of connection. I was convinced they were telepathic.
Dax: Thank you for including me! I’ll be there. I agree, no Monopoly. Last time, Wren threw the board out of the window. - Dax
Reed: Oh fuck, I still have to replace that board. And Tucker, if you don’t have my number, that is your own fault. My sister should’ve given it to you.
I didn’t have Reed’s number, but that was a dead giveaway. I chimed in.
