I shook my head, grinning. “Later. Around sunset. I just think… if we’re gonna do this, like really do this, I wanna make sure it’s real. That we’re not just wrapped up in the moment. We’ve known each other for years, but we haven’t really gotten toknoweach other like this. I think we should invite Tucker, too. If this is something we really want to try, I know he would be interested.”

He studied me for a beat—quiet, serious—and then nodded once.

“How do you know that he would be interested in more than just a hookup?” he asked, voice laced with confusion.

My smile was so big that my cheeks were going to hurt. “When we were coming home from the bar, he asked if you and I were a thing. And then explained he would absolutely be okay with that if we were.” I shrugged. “He’s looking for a polyamorous relationship, too.”

Cam shook his head, smiling at the ground. “Alright then, let's do this the right way.”

I smiled and then moved quickly to kiss him. He pulled me into his lap to straddle him as we made out. I slipped my tongue into his mouth and was greeted with a small whimper. Not a moan. Not a groan, but a whimper. I loved the noises I could draw out from him.

I pushed my now-wet pussy down over his clothed, hardening dick and swallowed his next moan. I pulled back after nipping at his bottom. We were both panting and smiling. He gave my ass a soft smack while beaming up at me. I kissed the tip of his freckled nose, then stood up.

I smoothed my hands through his long hair. “I’m going to sit in the living room with the two dummies.”

He let out a low chuckle, the kind that rumbled in his chest, and sank back into the chair. His elbow rested lazily on the armrest, his chin balanced on a fist, gaze fixed on me with an intensity that made it hard to breathe. His muscular thighs were slightly spread, causing a perfect view of his erection through his joggers. I swear I was drooling.

A slow, crooked grin tugged at his lips. It was dangerous. He knew exactly what he was doing to me.

“You really gonna make me wait all day, Shortcake?”

“Damn right I am,” I teased over my shoulder as I hurried out of his room. If I’d stayed, I know damn well I would’ve left full of his cum.

As soon as the door clicked shut behind her, I let out a dramatic sigh. I stared at the spot she’d just been sitting, my pulse still unsteady, my dick painfully hard, and my chest full of something I hadn’t felt in… hell, I didn’t even know how long. Hope. It was like the imaginary weight I’d been dragging around my entire life had finally slipped off my shoulders.

I sank further back into my chair and dragged a hand through my hair, letting my head tip back for a second, just breathing. God, I was happy. Like, actual, honest-to-god happy. And not just because Harper said she told Reed that she might be falling for me.

It wasthem.

Her laugh, the way she looked at me, the way she always surprised me with how much depth lived behind that sharp tongue of hers. Harper’s body was stunning, yeah—but her mind? Her heart? Her wit? That was what had me absolutely wrecked.

Even though Tucker and I hadn’t spent a lot of time together recently, I couldn’t get him out of my head. And every time I thought about the three of us together, I almost wanted to cry. Itwas such a relief to finally figure out what I wanted for myself. The joy they brought into my life was overwhelming. All the confusion, distress, and anger over the years made sense. I felt lost all these years, and now I had finally found myself.

Harper suggested going to the beach together and getting to know each other. October in northern Michigan was a bit chilly, but off the water was a different story. Very few people would be there, which would give us some illusion of privacy.

I was still half hard, so I gave myself a few minutes to get my shit together, splashed some water on my face in my bathroom, then made my way back down the hall.

Wren was curled up in the corner of the couch with a blanket over her lap, and Reed was sitting sideways with his head in her lap, legs stretched out and crossed at the ankles. Harper was sitting on the loveseat, typing something on her phone. I loved the little found family we'd created over the years. We all knew each other for ages, but have never been so close.

She looked up when I walked in, a little smile playing on her full lips.

“Look who finally emerged,” Wren teased. “We were starting to think Harper killed you.”

I dropped into the recliner, across from them. “You never know with her.”

Reed snorted. “She’s been threatening to kill people, mainly you, for like a decade.”

Harper rolled her eyes but smiled, cheeks turning a pretty shade of pink under her golden skin.

We spent the next twenty minutes just… existing. Eventually, Wren stood and stretched, then twisted her hair up into a quick bun.

“Alright, we’re heading out,” she said, looking at Reed. “It’s date night!”

“You ready now?” Reed sat up and looked at her.
