Seiji excitedly throws himself at Harvey, who malfunctions for a second before throwing his head back and bursting into laughter. When Seiji grabs his bicep and starts asking about his workout routine, Harvey steps back, shaking his head with disbelief.

I had the same reaction to Seiji when I first met—something between amusement and a headache.

Papa always said the Horsemen share a bond stronger than blood. Watching these three men interact like they’ve known each other for years fixes another piece of my shattered heart.

Harvey grabs me by the shoulders like he hasn’t exactly grasped our size difference yet, and shakes me. “How did you find them? And how did you get out? I’ve been trying to break into that bitch coven for over a year, but none of my contactsever got close.”

“Add that to the list of things we need to talk about. It’s alongstory, and I’ll gladly tell you when we get home.”

“Homehome?” Harvey chokes out.

Angel pats his back. “Home, brother.Ourhome. The Tetrad kingdom has been waiting for you.”

Harvey gulps and shakes his head with a tired smile. I can’t imagine what it must’ve been like. He escaped a dangerous situation only to realize there was no way home because it hadliterallybeenmoved.

Sensing the dark turn my mind has taken, Angel wraps his arm around my shoulders and kisses my head. I lean into him, soaking in his familiar scent until the panic fades.

When I glance at Harvey again, he looks completely shocked by Angel’s casual affection. His jaw hangs open as his gaze bounces between Angel and me like a madman, utterly confused.

I give him a moment to cool down, but with every passing second, he looks like he’s about to go off the rails.

Such a pity. The old man has finally gone cuckoo.

Obviously, it’s my moral duty to antagonize him further. “The torture finally broke you, huh? I always knew you were fragile, but I didn’t think you’d lose your mind so soon.”

“I’mfragile? And you’re what—the symbol of mental stability?” Harvey scoffs, folding his massive arms over his chest.

Is he eating the whole city’s ration? How did he get so big and muscular?

“I’ll have you know I sleep ten hours aweekand eat almosttwomeals daily. Beat that old man.”

“I’m only five years older than you! And I’m eatingfourtimes a day.”

What?!

I immediately turn to Angel, who, for some reason, looks absolutely mortified by our monumental achievements.Hater.

“You’ve got to start feeding me more. I can’t lose to thisasshole,” I beg him, even though I know I probably can’t eat more, but I’m willing to try.

“This assholeis standing right here!” Harvey takes a deep breath, trying to calm down before his Divine senses pick up his frustration and run amok.

Every time I comment on Harvey’s age, something in him catches fire. Watching him convince me that twenty-five isn’t old issuperentertaining. Pushing him until he loses his shit used to be my favorite pastime, and I’m so glad to have it back.

“It was shock, not old age, you little fucker. I was going to congratulate you on finding your mate, but now you’re being mean, so—fuck you.”

“Fuck you too, dumbass.”

“You’re so damn irritating. Come here.” The second I’m within his reach, he engulfs me in another bear hug. “Do I need to get rid of him?” Harvey whispers. From the restrained growl behind me, I know Angel heard that… and he’s not too happy about it.

“No.” I squeeze Harvey tighter. “I like him. A lot.”

Not even a second later, my mate tugs me out of my best friend’s arms and back into his. Harvey is ready to pounce when Hazel walks over, nods at Angel once, and takes her place beside him.

I didn’t even notice her leave. She probably did a quick sweep of the club to make sure no trouble was lurking around.

Harvey blinks at Hazel, then slowly turns to me with wide eyes and asks quietly, as if everyone here doesn’t have supernatural hearing.

“A siren? A goddamnsiren?!”
