Snickering at our dramatic Prince of Famine, Angel clears his throat louder than necessary and taps the wheel with his fingers.
“Where’s your phone?”
“I’m getting a new one.”Liar.
“Okay… and you packed your whips, right? Because I think I saw a familiar belt by the…”
Not needing to hear more, Seiji leaps out of the car, screaming he’ll be right back. August giggles when Seiji almost trips over his legs, trying to run back inside the hotel lobby. Smiling warmly at my little boy, Grace pats his head from the seat behind him, next to a sleeping Harvey cuddled into her side.
Suck on that, Seiji!
He owes me so many brownies.
CHAPTER 21
Turns out we are super rich

Ican’t take my eyes off the magnificent pale pink sky that is scattered with twinkling stars and multiple planetary bodies as I step through the portal.
On Earth, only the sun and moon are visible with their size, but here, I can count several planets acting like a burning moon or an icy sun, splashing the sky with different colors.
Begrudgingly, I allow my eyes to take in the enormous gate before me. If I didn’t believe in the strength of supernatural beings, I would be worried for the ones responsible to operate this monstrosity regularly.
“Why is this so big?”
“That’s what she said!” In point three seconds, Seiji is hit over his head by Angel.
“It’s good for the bigger vehicles to pass through the portal. You don’t exactly need cars to go around in the kingdom, but it helps to have your own vehicle when we go to different realms.” Angel explains, signally whoever is behind the gate.
Bouncing on his toes Seiji announces, “And I bought a plane!”
Anxo sighs deeply like he’s ready to lie down and forget he has to deal with all of us for at least a few more hours. Not to mention the rest of his life. “There was no convincing him otherwise.”
But we have horses that do the same thing. As if Anxo can picture the confusion on my face he shakes his head in defeat. “He did the puppy eyes. I was tired. Next day we had a plane delivered.”
The way my monkey’s eyes brighten, I just know he is storing this little information for later.
The roar of the giant gates being pulled open steals my attention. Seiji was right when he said I will be in awe the moment these gates open because my jaw falls open in par with them. The entire realm is a large island floating in the air with water falling down its edges and disappearing into thin air.
But that’s not what makes my breath falter. It’s the four magnificent castles strategically built on four corners of the island with personal waterfalls in their backyards. Sturdy bridges connect every castle’s third level around the entire Island. The architecture is mesmerizing. The perfect blend of modern and traditional.
“An invisible enchanted dome goes around the entire kingdom. It’s capable of withholding even the strongest spells.” Grace walks by me with August in her arms, pointing at different things and beaming with excitement.
“Think you can guess which castle belongs to which Horseman, sweetheart?” Angel brushes past me into the gates of anemptykingdom.
It was decided that the first time Harvey and I tour the kingdom, it should be without an overwhelming crowd.
Everyone was ordered to make themselves scarce for a few hours, but that didn’t stop the residents of Tetrad Kingdom from welcoming us however they could. The sidewalks are decorated with rare flowers, fireflies circling them and welcoming us at every turn. It’s a relief to know most are happy with our return.
Frankly, it’s not hard to guess which castle belonged to whom since each is built to cater to the taste and power of that Horseman.
On my far right is one that gleams and captures my attention without trying. I gasp as we get closer and find out that the precious jewels are embedded ingold bricksmaking them glisten under the sky. The bricks have delicate, intricate designs carved into them from the stairs to the top. The back of my head touches my shoulder when I crane my neck to see the top.
This building screams power and wealth. Every window, door and arc is carved out of gold.
