“Too late Jasmine. I’ll see your ass in court and make sure your brother stays away from me. I got cameras around my house and paperwork with the court. He fuck with me, and he will be seeing his children through glass.”
He got into his navy blue piece of aluminum shit and drove off. She stomped hard into the concrete and spun around, thenlooked dead into my windshield. When she stormed my way, I got out of the car, chuckling at the show I just got.
“What the fuck are you laughing at? Ain’t shit funny.” She sat down on the stoop behind her in a defeated motion.
“You and your baby daddy drama. Drama must follow you.”
“Yeah, it does. It follows me as you do, almost. Why didn’t you pull out your gun and shoot that nigga since you're my night in shining armor these days?”
She rolled her eyes sarcastically.
“Because it sounds like y’all are having baby mama and baby daddy drama, which I’m not getting in between. Plus, from what I heard, I can’t say that I agree with the nigga’s decision.”
She looked up at me with her nose scrunched up.
“What the fuck does that mean?”
“Exactly what I said. When I have a kid, I’ll do anything to protect him or her. Even if it’s from their mom.”
She got quiet, leaving the sound of the bus passing by the only noise between the two of us at the moment.
“Do you think I really have something to worry about when it comes to this Vivo guy?”
I shrugged my shoulders.
“I don’t know, but I’ll damn sure find out. Maybe you should go ahead and go into your spot and lock up.”
“Un Uhh.” She snaked her neck.
“I’m not going in there by myself. My mama is not here, so I’m going to go to Crew’s house. But damn.”
She smacked her lips.
“I think I just missed the bus I should have taken. I guess I’ll wait around for a fuckin uber to sit in traffic for hours.
“Stop being stubborn and just ask me for a ride, Jasmine. I’m not offering too many more to your unappreciative ass.” She caught on to my sarcasm and shook her head.
“Whatever, Amir, I’ve had a long enough day as it is. Can you take me to my brother’s house, please?”
“I got you. Come on. I hope you have gas money.” I replied, and she let out a brief snicker. I could tell she had a lot of shit on her mind right now, so I was being lighthearted with her to take that shit off.
Once we got in the car, and the doors shut, I took off towards the quiet part of Brooklyn where Crew lived. He and Hov had found the perfect spots for their families, and only certain mutha fuckas knew where they live, and I’m one of the few.
When we pulled up front, Jasmine opened the door and stepped out, dipping her head back into the window.
“Thank you for the ride.”
“It’s no problem. I’ll be waiting on that gas money.”
“Don’t hold your breath.” She replied, walking around the front of my car and disappearing into Crew’s house.
I took off from there and decided to stop by the stash house to check in with Elijah about some shit.
When I walked through the front door, I nodded my head at the little nigga Tony sitting near the front door with an A.R. across his lap. I followed the laughter into the kitchen, where Scotty, Vincent, Elijah, and Bam were all sitting playing dominoes.
“Yo.” I greeted the niggas when I walked in.
“What up nigga.” Bam replied, and Scotty followed with,
