“Look at him—”

“He’s so beautiful….”

Asher had no idea how long it took for the ringing in his ears to settle, but as he lay there panting, he once again registered the growls of Dreshtian speech.

It was so hard to leave that blissful place of peace, but Asher groaned and forced his eyes back open. He needed to see what came next.

Trenet and Vrayl were both watching him, looking like they wanted to devour him whole.

Trenet licked his lips.“I have to taste him.”

Asher flinched back, sucking in a breath.No. No, please.

Trenet bent his head, and Asher watched with wide, wet eyes as the Dresht began to lap up the trail of Asher’s spend from his chest and stomach. He couldn’t manage more than tiny sips of air through his nose, shivering and shaking as Trenet mouthed lower and lower. Tasting him.

More tears started to blur his vision, but Asher couldn’t force himself to look away. Couldn’t keep his mind from thinking about how much it would hurt, to not even be given a clean death.

Please… please, I don’t want to be eaten. Please!

He stopped breathing altogether, heart pounding too loud in his ears.

A ping suddenly sounded out in the room.

Trenet lifted his head. Asher blinked hard, tears trailing down his cheeks. What had happened? Why had Trenet stopped?

“Was that the alert?”Trenet looked upset. Did he… did he not like the way Asher tasted? Did Trenet want to prepare him first? Asher didn’t know and couldn’t ask, and he was starting to get dizzy from fear and lack of air.“For unsafe stress levels?”

Vrayl started to emit a rumbling sound as he carded his claws through Asher’s hair again.“It’s okay, sweetling. You’re safe. You’re home.”Then he picked up his head to make eye contact with Trenet.“The missive did say that it can take time for rescued Humans to understand that they’re safe. And what with the facility having no idea how long it’s been since he’s been cared for…”

Now Trenet was making that rumbling sound too. It would have been soothing, maybe, if Asher weren’t still so terrified. He looked from one Dresht to the other, shifting in Vrayl’s lap.

Trenet shook his head.“One thing at a time. I know we’re both eager to bring him the pleasure he needs, but if he’s gone without for so long, we should start with making him comfortable so he can eat.”Trenet’s tail twined around Asher’s ankle. Holding him in place.“You’ve been so brave, little love. But we’re here for you now.”

Asher clenched his teeth around the gag in his mouth. He wished he knew what they were saying.Trenet didn’t seem angry, more… upset. But Asher didn’t know if he was upset with something aboutAsheror something else.

He watched as Trenet picked up the bottle that was lying on the bedspread, clicking open the top and pouring more of that viscous fluid out into his palm. Then he reached for the purple bumpy thing that was still lying on the bed and coated it with the slick.

“I’m glad the missive gave us instructions to use a small training senchr for him at first,”Vrayl said.“I’m sure if we gave him the choice, he’d pick the biggest one we have.”

Trenet touched the slick end of the object to Asher’s hole, and icy dread dripped down Asher’s spine as he stared down at the thing between his legs. It—it was sobig. They wanted to put that inside him? He couldn’t!

Trenet rumbled at him again as he began to push the object into Asher’s hole.“There you go, Asher. Won’t it be nice to be filled with your senchr?”

Senchr.Asher’s static-filled brain grabbed onto the word. That was the second time they’d said it—was that what this thing was called? Thesenchrwas thicker than one of Trenet’s fingers and much longer, and Asher started to shiver again, shaking his head. He kicked out with his legs, but Trenet’s tail was still twisted around Asher’s right ankle, and it kept him stuck in place.

“We know you want bigger, sweetling,”Vrayl said, rubbing at Asher’s shoulders with the hand not holding Asher immobile.“But you’ve been without for so long, it’s best to have a smaller senchr, if only for a little while. But don’t worry, we’ll fill you at bedtime.”

“I’ll stay inside you all night, little love,”Trenet said, still pushing thesenchrin, in,in.“I promise.”

Asher couldn’t do anything but sob as thesenchrcarved a place for itself deep inside his body. The rim of his hole burned from the stretch of it, though at least that unpleasantness started to fade as the warming slick made his body tingle instead. It wasn’t like anything he’d ever experienced before, and he hated how intimate it felt being filled in such a way, splayed out like this on Vrayl’s lap, caught between him and Trenet. It felt too close to parts of Asher that were already scraped raw from fear after fear and disappointment after disappointment.

Asher had learned young that life was full of hardships. Living on his own on Journey-5 for the last three years had only solidified that notion. And now he was here, a captive of theDresht. So far they’d bound and gagged him, made him come, and then licked up his spill. Now they were putting somethinginsidehim—

Asher swallowed. Was he… being prepared?

“There now,”Trenet crooned, settling thesenchrfully inside and then tapping the base of it, making Asher whine around his gag.“That feels so much better, doesn’t it?”

“Look at how it’s calmed him,”Vrayl said, stroking down Asher’s chest before glancing at the screen of his wrist device.“His stress levels are in a much more normal range now.”
