He arches his eyebrows. “After you.”
I’m definitely not going to risk getting caught by Kevyn and Zeke. If I do come out to my team down the road, I’m going to do it on my terms.
But that doesn’t mean I can’t take advantage of the moment here when I have it.
I give Troy a sly smile that only he can see as I kick my shorts off. When Zeke and Kevyn enter the sauna, I start to put on a little show, rolling my hips, but when blood warms my dick, I realize what a bad idea that is and grab a towel, too.
Troy chuckles to himself.
The sauna is dim, and steam floats between the wooden benches. I start dripping sweat again as soon as I’m in the heat, and I wrap my towel around my waist as I find a seat. Zeke puts himself by Kevyn, leaving Troy no option but to sit right by me, our benches angled toward each other.
No matter how sexy his sweaty muscles are, I am not going to flirt right now.
“Did Troy ever tell you two about the Philly 2007 baseball season?” Zeke asks.
“The Unstoppable Nine,” Kevyn says as he stretches back. “You were part of that winning streak, right?”
Troy huffs. He’s got his towel around his waist still and his hands on his knees as he sits with his back straight, sweat dripping down his broad, hairy chest. “Wins don’t last long. The only game anyone cares about is tomorrow’s game.”
Troy’s career only lasted one undefeated season. That legendary winning streak carried straight through the World Series, but the game where his team won it all also happens to be the game where he injured himself, his last game.
I’m sure there’s pain there, even today, but Zeke is giving him a perfect opening for some good jock bragging, and I don’t want Troy to grump his way out of it.
Hell, he deserves to brag, even all these years later. If I had a run like that, I definitely wouldn’t shut up about it.
“That team was one of the best to ever grace the diamond,” I say. “And you nearly broke some records.”
Through the steam, I think I see a half-smile on his face, but he wipes his hand over his mouth, and it’s gone. “The team did break records.” He settles in, resigning himself to talk about it. “And being part of that was the biggest honor of my life. I was still new to the game, the only rookie on a team of experienced athletes. But when all of us clicked together, it was goddamn magic. Every athlete on the team was in perfect sync, essential and connected. We couldn’t lose.”
“What’s the highlight?” I ask him. “Your favorite play of the season.”
This time, Troy can’t help but actually smile. “Game two of the American League Pennant. Triple play. Houston hit a flaming drive straight through our open spot, but our center fielder ran like lightning, and the ball went from second to me and back to second so fast, the other team didn’t know what hit them.”
I grin through the steam, making sure he knows I appreciate the story.
“Hot damn,” Kevyn says.
“That’s why I’m excited about you two,” Zeke says as he stretches back, fully naked on his towel. “This is the year for our team. We’re playing at a different level, and even though we haven’t reached our potential, what you bring to the field is vital.” He leans forward and pours some water on the stove, sending a cloud of steam up. “With you two steering our offense and defense, we’ll have a story to tell like Troy’s soon.”
“Hell yeah,” Kevyn agrees.
“And I’m glad you’re both playing it straight, staying out of trouble,” he says. “Keep this up and know that Troy will deliver for your career.”
“Yeah,” Kevyn agrees with a nod to me. “We’re in sync. We’re with you, Zeke.”
I nod, too, holding his eye so he can see I mean it. “Let’s do this.”
Zeke chuckles. “Okay. Enough pep talks from your captain. I’m ready for a cold douse.”
Kevyn stands and grabs his towel. “I could use some air.”
“I’m good,” Troy grunts out, so even though I’m so hot I can barely stand it, I stay seated.
“Yeah. I could use a few more minutes until I’m cooked through.”
The door clicks shut behind them, leaving Troy and me alone. I lean back and spread my legs. When he doesn’t react, I open my towel, putting my dick on full display for him.
“Hey, remember how the last time I was here—”
