In almost every way, he’s just my type. But I’m still wrapping my head around the fact that I’m thinking about Matty the way I am, let alone what it could mean.

Definitely not anything I could fit in a text.

He’s a good guy,I answer finally.Gotta go. See you at the shop

I settle back in, appreciating Matty’s presence. I haven’t seen the movie since I was a kid, but it’s actually pretty good, especially with my date cracking jokes and making me laugh at the 90s fashion the whole time.

When it’s done, he pats my knee and leans in, which makes my pulse jump. “Thanks again. I’ll get you out of here right away,” he tells me.

I’m about to object that it’s fine and I don’t need to rush, but I realize that’s weird. These are his friends, and I’m going to slink out of his world in just a couple of weeks.

Slipping away is more my style, anyway.

After some quick goodbyes, Matty walks me out. It’s dark, but the early autumn air is still warm. As soon as we’re a few steps down the street, he lets out a loud laugh. “We did it!”

I shove my hands in my pockets. “You don’t think anyone had suspicions? I’m not too out of place?”

“Naw,” he answers. “Once the movie started, we were out from under the microscope, anyway. But we did get Milo’s attention.”

“Right.” I smile and come to a stop at my truck. “He’s cute. I can see why you like him.”

Matty laughs. He’s still bouncy, and it makes me want to grab him and pull him against my chest. “It’s a whole story. I’ll tell you sometime if you want.”

He leans forward suddenly and kisses me on the cheek. It’s like a spark that tingles out through my whole body, but just as quickly, he steps back again.

Fuck. That felt really, really nice.

“Thanks for being a great fake boyfriend. I promise, I’ll do the same for you.”

“Sure,” I answer as I push my hair back. “No problem. I had fun.” I look back at my truck with a nod. “You want a ride anywhere?”

“Nope,” he answers brightly. “I’ve got my bike. But I’ll see you for the tattoo consultation next week, right? We can debrief then.”

Matty walks off, his jeans hugging the firm curve of his butt and his sneakers slapping on the pavement. I’m surprised by a sudden crush of disappointment, and I linger for a minute, just watching him go.

“Third date,” I grumble to myself, “but no kiss.”

CHAPTERSEVEN

MATTY

I’m speedingthrough London on a bus, and when I look around frantically, the only people I see are the Spice Girls.

“Matty, Milo is in trouble,” Scary Spice tells me. “You’ve got to help us figure out where he is!”

I gasp. “I don’t know!”

The bus bounces, and Baby Spice jumps in front of me. “Why don’t you know? You’re one of his closest friends. Shouldn’t you know?”

“Unless he’s been lying to Milo,” Sporty Spice calls out. “It’s not nice to lie to your friends, Matty.”

The bus crashes, and I’m sent flying out the window. When I tumble to the street, I hear Milo calling my name. I sprint in the direction of his voice, but no matter how hard I try to run, I barely move.

All of a sudden, I round a corner and crash into someone.

It’s Stone. He’s tall and sexy and handsome, and he wraps his inked-up arms around me.

“It’s you,” I gasp, kissing him. My cock swells, and I rub my body up against his, craving the friction. “I’m so glad it’s you.”
