I jumped with the music, a big grin on my face from just having fun. Demir bobbed his head along with me, and I felt for a minute like I was back in the club with him and Marco when they opened it ten years ago, losing ourselves into a night of dancing and friendship.
“Hey,” I said, throwing my arms over his shoulders. “I just thought of something.”
“What’s that?”
“You and Marco have the club, and Marco and I will have the shop and studio, but what will you and I have?”
Demir pulled me closer, and I pressed my head against his shoulder, nuzzling into his arms. “We’ll have each other,” he said. “And that will be everything. But if you want something to collaborate on, too…” The music picked up again, and he bounced his hip to the side. “You know I’m always up for a project.”
I laughed, then returned to dancing. A moment later, I spotted Alyssa and Zach, making their way across the dance floor while Zach trailed his eyes up and down a couple guys he passed.
When we joined up, we barely said a word to each other. We just lost ourselves in the music, throwing our arms and laughing and spinning together. And when I was good and tired, I told my guys I was ready to head home and start the real celebration.
