I smiled and placed my hand on my belly. “I had too many savory foods. You were right about coming to this thing hungry.”
He snatched a small dish of light green ice cream off a tray, offering it to me. “Just a bite?” he said, scooping a tiny bit onto a spoon, then diving back down to swoop up one of the raspberry garnishes. “It’s bad for business if people don’t see you enjoy a little something sweet.”
I laughed, then nodded and leaned forward. He placed the spoon between my lips, and I drew my lips across the silver curve of it while I licked the ice cream off.
Pistachio and green tea.
“Hmmmm.” I darted my tongue across my lips. “Just sweet enough.”
He took a bite himself, much more generous then the bite I took, then smiled. “Exactly,” he said.
The whole night kept feeling unreal. Not only was Dominick feeding me ice cream and smiling at me, he was doing it in front of the most powerful people in Denver. I would never have been in the same room as a single one of those people if it weren’t for Dominick inviting me along. But here he was, the most desirable person at the party, paying attention to no one but me.
I blinked at him, my chest full of warmth. It might have felt unreal, but it was very much happening. And now that I was close to him, I wanted desperately to stay there. I wanted to please him. I wanted to make him smile, like he was making me smile.
Like it was real.
And standing right there in the middle of the gala, I wanted those other things, too.
I wanted him to take me into the stairwell, pull down my pants, and slap his bare hand across my butt. I wanted him to tell me I’d been bad and then make me feel really, really good. I wanted him to do other totally unreal things with me, things I never thought I would actually do.
My cock was aching in my suit as Dominick took me by the elbow again. “I think I know a quiet spot,” he said, depositing the ice cream dish on a side table. “Care to get a breath of air?”
I nodded. “Sure,” I said. “Whatever sounds good to you.”
“Careful what you say,” he teased. And just like that, we were gliding through the gala again.
