Currently, I serve a teen who lives in an unstable home. Her boyfriend has been a positive force in her life, but my presence puts his influence at risk. He worries that I have romantic designs on my mistress.
If Camarin were here, the boyfriend would observe how warm and close our relationship is. Naturally, we would not claim to be a couple, although it might be well for the humans to assume so. Once the boyfriend’s fears are allayed, the case can proceed with all of us working together.
Here is an example of where two Beings are less threatening and therefore more effective than one.

Dear Grant,
The League forwarded your memo to me. I must agree that your suggestion is a worthy one. I shall join you on this project tomorrow.
Are we to leave the impression that we are—as humans say—an item? If so, I shall do my best to play the part. You will, no doubt, be better at this role than I, as you have a higher comfort level with human affection.
I am most willing to learn.
Best,
Camarin

No Distance or Barriers
Columbus Day weekend finally arrived and with it, fall break. Four days off. By Friday morning, the campus was deserted. It didn’t take long to discover that I really liked the quiet.
The phone rang late that evening. It was Scott. We’d just talked last night, so this call was a little surprising. “Is anything wrong?”
“No, I just kept hoping that you would change your mind and come home for the long weekend.”
My mom had asked me to drop in on an estate sale in a nearby town tomorrow morning. I’d checked out the web ad, and it sounded promising. “I have a few things I need to get done.”
“Would you like some company?”
Hold on. Was he implying that he would come here?
No. That couldn’t be right; it was too far. Except, why else would he ask?
Anticipation feathered over my skin, drawing goose bumps. “I would love some company.”
“How about mine?”
“I would love for you to be my company. Are you offering to drive here?”
“Nope...”
My heart plummeted. All the way down to my toes.
“... I don’t need to drive to Newman since I’m already here.”
“What?” Oh, wow. My heart returned to its rightful place. “You’re at Newman? Where?”
“In the parking lot of your residence hall. Leaning against your car.”
I raced out of my suite, down to the outside door, and straight into his arms.
Mmmm, he smelled just like Scott and, once we were pressed together in a tight embrace, he felt just like Scott.
“Are you crazy?” I asked with a mock scowl. “You drove all this way for the weekend?”
