I don’t miss the eyeroll before he tells her, “First off, I don’t bring women to my office. Not like you’re thinking. Second, every single bathroom in the club has the same amenities.” Okay. Someone is feeling a little defensive. “It’s not uncommon for the things that happen here to stimulate a period. Hell, hard sex alone can do it. You never know when, or where, you’ll need them.”

Demetria lifts her hands in surrender. “Calm down, big guy. No need to get so defensive about it. I had no idea you cared so much about menstrual cycles.”

“I’m about to show you how much. Grab your stuff. I’m taking you home.”

Her face falls as she steps into him. “Hey, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean–”

“Stop,” he interrupts, placing both hands on her face and tilting her head until their gazes meet. “I’m not taking you to your home. I’m taking you to mine.”

He places a chaste kiss against her parted lips, then turns to me with an expression I can’t place. “You’re coming, too.”

“Wow, I knew she was tired, but I don’t think I expected her to pass out quite so fast,” Raegan whispers from behind me as I lay Demi in my bed and pull the thick comforter over her limp, exhausted form.

“I had a feeling,” I reply. The truth is… I knew she needed it. I could see it in her eyes. They were hooded–in the non-sexy way–and droopy. Her shoulders were slouched, just a little more than normal and there was something different in the tone of her voice. They both resisted, although Demi put up less of a fight, only proving my theory that she needs more rest. Raegan was a little harder to convince. In the end, I don’t think she said yes for me. She watched Demi gather her things and I watched the sadness and concern for her take over like she was putting on a mask. Or maybe she was letting some of it down. Hard to say.

Regardless, I’m glad they’re both here. I’ll admit, I didn’t think any of this through. I simply acted. Demi is clearly dropping, and it’s possible Raegan could be as well. It’s not an uncommon occurrence for Dominants, but it is easily dismissed in the lifestyle. Realistically, everyone involved experiences some type of hormone rush during a scene, so it’s not a stretch to think all parties will also drop when everything comes back down.

Once I had Demi buckled in my car, she begged me to stop and get her some Superman Ice Cream. Admittedly, I hesitated. I don’t recall ever hearing about a grown adult eating that, but she batted her fucking lashes and everything making it impossible to say no to her. Then she passed the fuck out… again. Did we stop? No. But I am going to have some delivered. Honestly, whatever she wants or needs… I’ll make sure she gets it.

The doorbell rings. Speaking of needs. When I open the door, the delivery person hands me the drugstore bag. “Thank you,” I say as I take the bag from him and send him a large tip in the app for doing this so late.

When I get back to my room, Raegan is on the floor, leaning against the mattress with her eyes closed and her legs crossed out in front of her.

Fuck, she’s stunning. The last twenty years have done nothing to diminish her beauty. Her blushed cheeks and pouty lips. That crimson hair that reflects the light in the most heavenly way. Yep… she’s still an angel. The most beautiful one I’ve ever seen. Don’t even get me started on those wide hips of hers that call to my hands to grab them and hold onto them while I fuck into her from behind.

Shit. My cock is starting to thicken thinking thoughts like that. Thoughts I shouldn’t be having.

One eye pops open and I quickly keep moving into the en suite bathroom, hoping I didn’t just get busted perving on her.

“What’s in the bag?” she asks, not budging from her spot.

I step back out like nothing happened. “Pads, tampons, ibuprofen. I wasn’t sure what she wanted, so I got one of everything.”

She quirks a curious brow. “That was very thoughtful of you.”

“What can I say, I’m a thoughtful guy,” I retort. “The floor can’t be comfortable. Why don’t you get on the bed. It’s big enough and you probably need to rest, too.”

Her eyes slowly close. “I’m fine where I am.”

Kicking off my shoes, I slide down the side of the mattress and drop next to her. “Haven’t lost that nasty stubborn streak, I see.”

She doesn’t respond and her body is so still, I can’t help but wonder if she’s also passed out. Her breathing is even, but not particularly shallow. She’s probably not asleep, but then again… it’s been so long since I’ve shared a bed with her, how would I even fucking know?

I internally kick my own ass. I’ve missed so much and it’s my own damn fault for not having a normal conversation with my wife. Instead, I let my father back in my head andsheended up the collateral damage of a past I’d worked hard to run from. I know Demi thinks I should tell her, but how do I after all these years? The damage I caused is already done.

“You should probably rest too, you know.” Her angelic voice breaks through my thoughts. My eyes pop open and she’s staring right at me. “We’re all tired… obviously.”

I bend my left leg and rest my elbow on my knee. “I’ll be fine.”

“Uh huh. Sure.”

“Not sure why you don’t believe me. I would know if I was okay, wouldn’t I?”

“Not necessarily.” She shrugs. “You know whatfinestands for?”
