I laugh and take them all in. I spent my whole life, thinking I’d missed out on a family, but I was wrong. I have my girls and I have everyone in this room. They may not share my blood, but they’re family just the same and I love each and every one of them.
I wrap my arms around Demi and Raegan, pulling them tightly into me.
“I love you both.”
They both smile and kiss my cheek.
This is all I’ll ever need.
Epilogue One
Hayes
Three Months Later…
“Thanks for all your help, Ben. I appreciate it.” I extend my hand and he takes it, giving it a cursory shake before heading back out my office door.
Ben’s been my lawyer for a long time and has put up with a lot of my shit, which included chasing me down to sign divorce papers that it just so turns out Ididn’tactually want to sign. And then I did anyway. Then there was the fucking land contract that lingered out in the ether for so long because I couldn’t get my head on straight. I damn near forgot about it, if we’re being honest. And that’snotlike me. I don’t forget shit and I always take care of business.
But that was old Hayes.
Today’s meeting with my lawyer wasn’t for a divorce or a fucking land contract. It wasn’t even for new Hayes. It was for my girls. It took a minute for the papers to be drawn up, but everything had to be perfect, or it wouldn’t work.
They don’t know yet, but I did an overhaul on my will, so they both get everything if anything were to happen to me. Since I can’t legally marry twopeople, I don’t want my shit stain of a father or anyone attached to him to even think about staking any type of claim on Gravity or anything of mine, just because he’s blood. I needed Ben to make sure it was iron clad and sure enough, he came through for me. He always does.
I just need them to always be protected. No matter what.
His timing couldn’t be better, either, seeing as I plan on proposing to them tonight. Legal or not, I want to call them bothMy wives. And I want to do it in front of everyone we know.
I just have one more thing I need to take care of before I ask them.
As if on cue, my office door springs open and Raegan, followed by Demi, walks through. Fuck, they’re easily the most beautiful women I’ve ever fucking laid eyes on.
“I have something to tell you both,” Raegan spits out.
“Wait, can I go first?” Demi cuts in, her eyes wide with frantic energy.
I stand from my desk, rounding the corner to lean against the edge, grabbing it with both hands as I cross my legs. “No. Whatever it is, it’ll have to wait. I’ll be going first, but first…” I straighten and lead them back to the door they just came through. “We have some business to attend to.”
Raegan
Of all the things I could have imagined when Hayes said we hadbusiness to attend to, the last place I expected him to lead us, was to the still taped off section of the bar that encloses the very table that I ate Demetria out on before she ran away.
Yet here we fucking are.
I still can’t believe he did this. And by this… I mean, the entire booth and table is barricaded and labeled as being under construction. We’re talking tape, signage, bright ass cones… you name it, he put it up. It’s a goddamn eyesore.
He’s a fucking crazy person.
“I don’t understand,” Demetria whispers in my direction.
“I’m not sure I do, either.” The bar and club opened over an hour ago and business is in full swing. There are people everywhere.
Hayes stopped at the bar to talk to Jake and sent us over here to wait for him.
I release a slow breath, tempted to turn around and go back to the comfort of his office to wait for whateverthisis, when he finally makes his way over to join us.
He doesn’t speak. Instead, he begins to move everything out of the way, like he’s finally putting everything back to normal.
