“Cocktimus Prime,” she mouths while shoving her index fingers in his face and slowly pulling them apart, with a sly grin. “It’s an inside joke. Don’t you worry your handsome little head.”
Oh. My. God. “Wrinley Jaymes!” I yelp, pulling her hands down and pushing her away from my man. “You did not seriously just reference his dick size to his face. What the hell is wrong with you?”
“It was just a joke. Why are you being so intense?”
“I’m not being intense. I just don’t need him knowing I talked to you about his dick.”
“Ah, I see. I figured you were already fucking him.” Her eyes widen like she’s made an epic discovery. “But, why didn’t you tell me you’re in love with him?”
Shifting on my feet, I look over my shoulder to see he’s back at the bar with Jake and Roxie, pouring drinks and deep in thought. When I turn back, she’s still staring at me like a fucking creep.
“I don’t know,” I confess. “I guess maybe I figured it wasn’t real.”
She regards me with a raised brow. “Ari, I’ve never seen you look at anyone, the way you look at that man. Looks pretty real to me.” Damn her for knowing the exact right thing to say.
“Am I that obvious?”
“Yeah, babe. You are. I get this is supposed to be temporary, but maybe he’s what you needed all along. Maybe, he’s your forever.” She’s so flighty half the time, it’s easy to forget she’sbeen through enough shit in her life and has a lot of wisdom underneath that facade. “Don’t you owe it to yourself, to find out? Do something for you for a change?”
I tug my best friend into the warmest of hugs. She’s right. The truth is, Iamin love with him. But I won’t admit that to her. He deserves to be the first person to hear me say it.
“I’ve gotta get back to work. We’re closing soon and there’s still a lot to do.” She nods, but what I don’t tell her… is the sooner I finish my work, the sooner I can take this torture device out of my asshole.

It’s been a minute since I got in Axel's face and threatened Bella's mother. Thankfully, Christine seems to have taken my not so subtle hints, because I’ve heard nothing about any new incidents.
Axel and I have been talking more, and I almost feel bad for giving him so much shit. In fairness, he is also a product of his mother’s abuse, he’s just handled it differently. Where Bella is co-dependent, Axel is distant and cold. She’s sucked in by her mother’s narcissism and guilt trips and he’s insistent on walking the opposite direction of wherever Christine happens to be. His distance hurts not only their mother, but his sister too. Although, I can’t say I blame him. Some days–scratch that–most days I wish she’d be more like him. She's kind and loving, but that doesn't mean people get a free pass to walk all over them and treat them like shit.
She had a busy shift last night, so I let her sleep in, but I couldn’t stave off the restlessness warring throughout my body. I’m in my usual spot, sipping coffee and catching up on currentevents on my phone, when I hear the distinct sound of her bare feet shuffling down the hall.
“Daddy,” she whines, causing me to peer up at her over the rim of my mug. She’s wearing one of my old college t-shirts that barely covers her thick ass and my dick twitches to life at the sight.
“Good morning, my sweet girl.”
She doesn’t stop moving until she’s reached me to push her way onto my lap. Grabbing my phone and setting it on the coffee table, she takes my coffee for herself.
“Blech. Black coffee. That’s nasty. How do you drink that?”
“With my mouth,” I grin as she side-eyes me. “How did you sleep?”
“Would’ve slept better if you were still laying next to me.”
“I’m sorry,” I say, wrapping my arms around her tightly, pulling her closer to my body so her ass presses right on my now aching cock. “I couldn’t sleep, so I went for a run. I showered when I got back, then made coffee. You didn’t even budge. Clearly, you needed the rest.”
“I needed you more.”
“I know baby,” I agree, giving her ass a quick pinch. “You should eat, you’ll need your energy for later.”
She won't be ready for what I have planned, but she doesn’t need to know that. I told her we'd do this the next time we went to Gravity, not for work and I've intentionallynotdone anything with her there since. She’s had plenty of time to get away with almost anything. Tonight, she’ll pay up.
“What’s happening tonight?”
“Remember that deal we made?” I raise a brow.
“Shit, is it time already?”
