Chapter 56
Daniel
They crashed into each other, and his body was ablaze. The match had been lit and engulfed them both. He wasn’t sure which moans were his and which were hers as they clawed at each other’s clothing. He pinned her against the wall, and something fell off the shelf above their heads.
Daniel wasn’t sure where to start. Her mouth was delicious, warm and wet and soft like sodden silk. She pressed herself into him, grabbing at his shoulders, and he ran his hand down her sides, grabbing at her ass to pull her even closer. She threw her head back as he kissed hot breaths down her neck, using his teeth to find his way through the lace of her bra to her nipple.
He stopped for a moment, admiring her panting curves, the skin of her breasts smooth and dark, and then puckering in anticipation of his tongue. She looked down at him, her gaze demanding, and he indulged her, taking the hard nib in his mouth. At the sound of her moaning, he could feel himself tightening against the seam of his flies. Her hands had travelled to his chest now and then her fingers were trailing lightly over the ridges of his abs and downwards. The stirring intensified, and Daniel’s mind fogged, seeminglyoverwhelmed by the multiplying points of contact. Everywhere she touched him, his skin prickled, all of him standing to attention.
As she arrived at his waistband, it was his turn to groan, and the vibrations seemed to travel from his mouth through her body, as it quaked in response. He wanted more. He wanted to make her quiver; he wanted to watch her come undone.
He dropped to his knees and caught her gaze again as he unzipped her skirt. The aubergine-coloured fabric pooled at her feet. Face to face with the triangle of cloth, he took a jagged breath. ‘Please,’ she mouthed. Who was he to deny this magnificent woman?
He hooked his thumbs about the scant strips of fabric circling her hips, and slowly pulled her underwear down. ‘Such a tease,’ she whimpered breathlessly. He was enjoying taking his time. He brushed his lips over her hip bone, and planted a light kiss on the soft flesh of her stomach. Her breathing grew louder, raspier. He lifted her leg over his shoulder and found that crease, the one demarcating her thigh from her abdomen. As he ran his tongue along it, the throbbing between his legs grew louder and heavier.
When he finally tasted her, she exhaled with something like relief, her fingers digging into the muscles in his shoulder. The smell of her was intoxicating, and Daniel found it hard to maintain any concept of time passing, each new present building on the previous high. Her thighs showed the signs. Daniel felt them trembling in his hands, as her breathing quickened. He followed suit. Her hands clenched into fists and he felt her hardness, her pleasure swelling under his tongue,he used a finger to dip into her and was overcome by her readiness for him. He groaned into her again, and it tipped her over the edge.
As the tremors soaked through her body, Daniel did not relent. He wanted to venture to the very limits of her, and then take one step further. She breathed his name like a prayer and he forged further until she reached the peak again and then came tumbling back down to earth.
He was there to catch her when she landed, waiting patiently for those liquid pools of bronze to open. She kissed him softly and he stroked her cheek with his thumb. She purred against his lips. ‘Would you be offended if I told you I wasn’t expecting that from you?’ she asked quietly, though there was a sparkle of mischief in her eyes.
‘I would,’ he said good-humouredly, ‘but I’d try and take it as a backhanded compliment.’
‘Please do,’ she said but the last word was swallowed by his mouth on hers again. A moment of respite and then the furnace roared back to life. She was frantic now, and his buttons were the casualties, though he found himself totally unbothered as he heard one rattle to the floor. His shirt followed close behind and then she moved on to his belt. It was almost too much to bear, as she struggled with the buckle. She pushed him away, her hand flat on his chest, and he felt bereft.
She giggled. ‘Don’t look at me like that – I just need to get a better look at this …’ She bent to take a closer look at the fastening, and her proximity made him even harder. He winced as her hand grazed over him, the lightest touch, an overdose of anticipation. Ore pulled at his waistband, and he studiedher face as she exposed him. Was it surprise? Fear? Admiration? She looked up at him and his heart almost stopped beating. It was hunger.
