“It was a girl, huh?”
“Yeah.”
“Bitch, why I know your baby daddy? April was showing us some pictures of y’all and I recognized him. I met him at Astro World about a year or two ago.” Shay blurted.
Why wasn’t I surprised? “Oh, for real? Don’t tell me you fucked him too.” I spat blandly.
She scrunched. “No, we just talked on the phone a few times. Then his mama told me to quit calling her house because his girlfriend lived there. I would’ve never guessed that it was your ass. That nigga is fine as hell and it would be a bitch like you to tie him down. You and Raquel be having niggas wanting to knock y’all up and tie y’all down at a young age.” Shay laughed. I guess the bitch was trying to be funny.
“Bitch, shut up. Don’t be mad because those niggas you fuck with like tohit and run! You played your game so well. But bitch you really played yourself. Cause all they wanted was a one night stand.” Raquel sang. The Fifth Ward Boys used to jam back in the day. We all burst out into laughter. Raquel would just tell it like it is and you had to respect her for that.
By the time we made it to Shell’s apartment I realized that their asses were supposed to be at school like me.
“Why y’all not at school?” I asked.
“Shit, I got suspended.” Tae shrugged, nonchalantly.
“The same reason your ass aint go. Naw, for real, I didn’t go because Keyasia was sick.” Raquel answered.
“And I’m on a vacation.” Shay offered.
I shook my head. Those chicks hadn’t changed one bit and I missed the hell out of them. With them there was never a dull moment.
Right by Shell’s stairs was a whole bunch of chicken heads. They were sitting around with their hair all fucked up, looking like they’d just had a fight. Naturally, I assumed that those were the broads thatwere fighting my dog. Obviously, she gave those bitches a run for their money.
“Excuse me.” I mean-mugged the broad that was blocking the stairs. She looked me up and down then moved. You see, I was a bitch that was always down for whatever, but I didn’t do much talking. I was used to hoes looking at me crazy; it just came with the territory.
Raquel, Tae, and Shay followed me up the stairs. I knocked on Shell’s door and she snatched it open.
“Bi…” she started to say. “Oh, girl I thought that you was one of those hoes coming with some more drama.” she sighed.
“What happened?” I asked her. Her braids were still intact but she had a few scratches in her face.
“That bitch down there is claiming to be pregnant by Josh.” she fumed pointing to one of the chicks down stairs. The girl was slim and dark skinned.
“Bitch what you pointing down here for?! You ready to get your ass whipped again?” that bitch shouted.
All Raquel did was giggle at her.
“Girl, don’t worry about those hoes.” I assured her.
“No, that bitch got me fucked up.” Shell shouted as she inched towards the stairs. “I aint scared of nah one of you hoes. Y’all had to jump me to get some win. I want one of you bitches to run up one on one.”
“Yeah, and if you bring your ass down these stairs we gon jump your ass again.” some light skinned girl boasted.
“Naw, Franshell, y’all aint jumping nobody.” Raquel added.
“Raquel, this aint got nothing to do with you.” the girl Franshell snaked her neck.
“And it aint got nothing to do with you. So, if y’all jump in the fight we gon jump in too.” Raquel asserted, as she walked down the stairs. “Black, if you wanna get out there with her its gon be one on one. So, what’s up?”
“Tell that bitch to come on then.” the black girl replied, hopping up. The shit was crazy. Coke Street broads always wanted to rumble. I'd warned Shell that she was gonna have problems with her being from the south side and all. If you wasn't from Fifth Ward you'd never get a fair shake in a fight. Shit, we was all guilty of jumping outside bitches.
Shell wasted no time in making her way down the stairs. She charged at that girl and they stumbled to the ground. People were running from everywhere to see the fight. Shell was getting in that bitch’s shit.
“Get her, Shell! Knee that bitch!” I instructed. My girl must’ve heard me because that’s exactly what she did. That short bitch got her ass kicked.
