“Did he say anything to you?” Jahrein asked me.

“No.” I lied.

“Where the fuck is that bitch ass nigga?” he turned to look behind him.

“On the other side. Baby, let's just eat and chill. If he don’t say nothing, you don’t say nothing.”

Jahrein nodded as he bit into his shrimp. “You sure he didn’t say nothing?” he asked in between bites.

“Yeah, I’m sure.” I lied, as I kissed his right cheek.

We were able to eat the remainder of our lunch in peace. Michelle and Joy both laughed with Jahrein. They knew that his ass would pick up the tab. He held my hand as we exited the restaurant. I don’t know if they purposely waited until we were leaving but Khalil and his boy decided to leave at the same time. He and Jahrein hadn’t been that close without exchanging blows. Since Khalil was older I was praying that he’d be the bigger person and just keep it moving.

“Niggas always handcuffing hoes. Raven, you make sure to call me and let me know about the baby.” Khalil spoke arrogantly.

I knew this nigga was trying to pull Jahrein’s card.

“She aint got to call you for shit, nigga.” Jahrein fumed.

“Come on, baby.” I tried to pull Jahrein away from the scene.

“Yeah, Jahrein don’t even entertain that.” Michelle added.

“Bitch, you mind your business.” Khalil said to Michelle. “And you’s a stupid ass nigga if you think that that baby is yours." he blasted.

“Nigga, you got me fucked up! This aintyourbaby!” I yelled. He took me off my mark with that one.

Jahrein peered around and saw a few police patrol cars driving around and so did I. “Come on, Raven. Fuck what he talking about. You was pregnant before you even moved out and that nigga heard me say that.” Jahrein said as he pulled me away.

“You can have the stupid bitch, anyway. She aint about shit, really. Just another money hungry slut and she don’t even suck dick!” Khalil shouted.

I just shook my head. How juvenile could he be? He was making a complete fool of himself, and it was obvious that he was mad because he couldn’t have me. He thought that he was getting to us, but the joke was on him. He’d dished out plenty of money and I never had to do shit for it. He thought that I was the too cute type to actually give some head, when my husband knew that my mouth stayed full with his dick.

“Raven, get in your truck and I’ll follow you until we can find somewhere to park it.” Jahrein instructed me. “I don’t trust that nigga.”

“Okay.”

Chapter 21

(Die/Beanie Sigel)

“Die cause them niggas was jeal and envied me…”

“Hi.” a bald headed jogger spoke as he floated past me.

“Hey.” I replied as I continued on at my own pace.

I was desperately trying to take my mind off all the drama going on. Things had gotten so crazy that I had to turn off my cell phone. Somehow the haters had gotten a hold of my new number. I thought that everything would have died down by now, but it just wasn’t the case. I received prank calls all day long. I tried to brush the shit off, but it was starting to get under my skin. So, I was walking around the track in the park near my home to relieve some stress.

All of my children were either in daycare or at school. Jahrein was out trying to handle some business. He was hell bent on getting at Khalil, and at that point I couldn’t blame him. Some asshole left seven dead roses on our front door step. Somehow our mailbox gets knocked down every night. We found a dead cat in our driveway. So, whoever was behind that had too much time on their hands. I was starting to think that Khalil wasn’t doing those things. I mean, the dude was a hustler on a major scale, so when did he find the time to do this bullshit?

I was putting in a real workout. I had so much on my mind that I didn’t even realize how long I’d been walking. I took a look at my Movado watch and saw that it was almost three o’clock. It was almost time for me to pick up my kids from school. So, I made my way to myBenz. Parked right next to me was Khalil’s Lexus truck. In fact, he was leaning on it with his arms folded.

My heart rate instantly sped up. I decided that my best bet would be to get in my ride and get the fuck out of dodge. I was kicking myself for leaving my cell phone inside the truck. I scrambled to find my keys. Before I could even unlock the doors with my alarm switch he was standing in front of my door.

“Move.” I said trying to sound strong. I was scared shitless, just because he‘d obviously gone out of his way to find me. Had he been following me?

“Now why would I do that?” he gritted.
