“Khalil, please don’t start. This is his daughter’s party and those are herpeopletoo. If you knew you couldn’t control yourself you should have stayed at home. This is Jhyrah’s day and you know she wants her daddy here.” I walked away. I wasn’t digging his attitude. He should’ve been on the offense insteadof trying to play defense. He was at the next man’s daughter’s birthday party. I didn’t give a damn about him paying for it because I could’ve done that myself.
I went and found Jahlero and we took a seat at a table. Jhyrah came and sat next to me to play with her baby brother. She was always asking to hold him and trying to feed him. I think her little ass thought that she was his mama.
“Yah-Yah, why you not over there playing?” Jahrein walked over and asked her.
“Cause, daddy, I’m tending to my baby.” she said with her little grown ass.
“Oh yeah?” Jahrein tickled her. She was giggling her little head off.
“Stop daddy.” she laughed.
I sat and watched those two horse around. My daughter was so pretty with her long curly hair. She was looking like a little princess in her pink Gucci outfit. Her dimples were sinking deep into her cheeks as she enjoyed her daddy.
Jahrein took a seat next to her. “Daddy, loves you.” he told her as he kissed her cheek.
“I loveyou, daddy. You love Jahlero too?” she asked him.
“Yeah.” he replied.
“You love little Jahrein?”
“Yeah.”
“You love…Jahrae too?”
“Yep.”
“You love Jahreiah?”
“Yep.”
“You love…mommy?”
“Yes.” he said as he looked over at me.
I couldn’t stand the glare so I looked away.
“Daddy, I’m not your friend.” she pouted as she folded her arms across her chest.
“Why not?” Jahrein pretended to pout poking his bottom lip out.
“Because you don’t live with me, anymore.”
“Well, daddy is going to try to work on that.”
“And who is that lady that you brought to my party? Don’t she got her own daddy?” she sassed.
I couldn’t help but laugh and so did Jahrein.
“She is just daddy’s friend.” he claimed as he looked at me.
“Daddy, why do you and mommy have boyfriends and girlfriends if y’all married?”
“Oh, I don’t have a girlfriend, baby. Your mommy needed her space.” he lied to my daughter.
“Jahrein, don’t do that.” I finally spoke.
“Well, it’s the truth.”
