But second dinner. So worth it.

I stumbled then and Okeanos' hand landed on my shoulder. “Let me help you.”

“Thanks.” I smiled.

“No problem, love,” he replied, and I paused because I'd never heard Okeanos speak in such a smarmy tone of voice. Not to mention …love?

Cronus wasn't even here for him to piss off, so it was extra weird.

“Where did Hyperion say that Zeus was?” I asked. Titans were coming in sight now as the beach resort appeared on the horizon.

“Right here, love,” Okeanos said in a rush, and this time when he grabbed me, I screamed, but it was too late.

Cuffs slapped onto my wrists, heavy and cumbersome, and the moment they did, the swirl of power inside of me felt like it was cut off. I couldn't feel the baby. I couldn't feel anything.

“I think this will even keep your bastard child under wraps,” Okeanos butnotOkeanos hissed. “At least long enough for me to get you away from the Titans.”

I was still screaming, but he didn't care, zapping us away in a flash of power.

When my feet landed on solid ground, I spun quickly to take stock of my surroundings.

Oh fuck.

Over fifty gods stood in a V formation, armed to the teeth, carrying metal shields and swords. “You fucking idiot,” I spat at the god beside me. Okeanos’ blonde hair faded to brown as he took Zeus’ shape. “Cronus will come for me and you’ll all die.”

He sneered at me, shaking the last of his illusion free. “Oh, he will come, but my army will take him down just like they did last time.”

“You mean last time when he basically blasted you all into multiple pieces and you had to run and hide after the challenge?”

Zeus didn’t like being reminded of that. I felt a spike of his power crackle into my skin. It was muted though, not hurting as it could have.

“This time I’m prepared. This time I will not lose.”

Dude had already lost … his fucking mind.

His eyes raked over my large chest and to my belly. “And then you and the powerful bastard will be mine.”

Without thinking, I took my cuffed hands and rammed them up into Zeus’ nose. Bright crimson blood splattered over the front of his chest as he let out a shout.

“Call my baby a bastard one more time,” I growled.

Zeus looked murderous. Lightning crackled in the sky as he lifted his fist above my head, no doubt prepared to rain lightning on me.

A dozenpopsfilled the space as Cronus and the Titans arrived. They were all probably slightly drunk, had no weapons, and most were in beachwear, but they looked absolutely terrifying and feral, their energy filling the large open field I’d been taken to.

Zeus forgot his anger with me, gesturing to the fifty armored gods before him, who stepped between us and blocked the way for Cronus to get to me.

The lightning that played out above intensified, and when it struck Cronus in the top of the head, I yelped, thinking it had been Zeus who had commanded it. But Cronus’ entire body turned into his fiery lightning form, and I relaxed a little.

It was not Zeus, but Cronus, who was in psycho murderous Titan mode.

Cronus’ voice boomed so loud that I had to cover my ears: “Kneel to me! And I will spare the lives of your gods, but nothing will keep me from my wife and child.”

Wife?I liked the sound of that.

The gods didn’t move, and Cronus flicked out his wrist, jerking the nearest god into his open hand. He squeezed tightly, and even though I couldn’t see very well from my position, I was almost certain that the fucking head popped right off and rolled across the ground.

There was a rumbling between the gods; they looked back at Zeus as if waiting for a command.Shit.This was really bad. The Earth couldn’t handle many more god deaths, and Cronus was on a mission.
