Honestly, two kinds of people in this world.

After all was said and done, all the demons were killed, and the points stood atTitans- 48 gods- 40.

Cronus hurried over to me, looking far too pleased with himself. Unlike his family, he’d managed not to get covered head to toe in blood and guts, but I still wrinkled my nose at him. “Dude, I love you, but if you touch me with that shit on your hands, I’ll neuter you.”

His smile grew. “You wouldn’t do that. You love my di—”

“The final round will start now,” Narida bellowed, interrupting his elegant soliloquy about his anaconda.

Everyone faced the crone, and she clicked her fingers, making the cages disappear.

“Round three is the most difficult, and it’s worth the most points,” she started. “I’ve hidden an object somewhere in this world. A jewel with no power resonance.” She paused for dramatic effect as the powerful beings tried to comprehend how fucking hard it was going to be to find. “You'll get two clues each to it’s location—plot points that if combined will form the small perimeter of the search area.”

Oh, great. Someone had been playing Clue a little too much in her spare time.

Her eyes met mine and I narrowed my eyes.

To know the perimeter, the two teams would have to work together, and those bastards would spend the rest of eternity searching before doing that.

“How the fuck can we find something that has absolutely no power?” one of the gods complained. “Talk about impossible. This world is fucking huge.”

Narida waved her hand and he just shut the hell up.

Now that was a nifty trick.

“You need to listen closely to what I said,” she said slyly. “And I'm giving you some plot points to work within. What the hell more do you want? A map?”

Judging from the nods all around, that was exactly what they wanted.

The crone snorted. “Yeah, this is not going to be easy, but if you work together, use your varying skill sets, I'm sure you'll figure it out.”

“Is there anything else?” Cronus asked, clearly keen to get this over with.

Narida nodded. “Of course there is. I enjoy hearing myself speak, don't you know?” Cronus wisely did not answer that. “So, here are the rules: there are absolutely no rules, anything goes. The first team to bring me my object back wins fifty points, and this concludes our tournament.”

She waved her hands, and with a ringing sound, a piece of paper appeared in Cronus’ hands, and another in Zeus’.

Then absolute chaos erupted.

No. Rules?Was she serious?

“Maisey!” Cronus shouted over the noise. “Stay with me.”

Hmm, that was one benefit to no rules. I could be near him, maybe even help out; otherwise I'd be at risk of being ambushed by a god who thought they could use me to take down Cronus. You know, thanks to that little “no rules” thing.

Someone must have had the same thought, because a fiery ball of magic blasted toward me. Thankfully, Cronus was close enough to deflect it; my Titan simply threw his hand up and the fireball diminished.

“Touch her and it’s the last thing you'll ever do,” Cronus growled, projecting his voice. “That warning goes out to every single being on this world.”

Apollo ran closer to Cronus, sneering at him. “I'm not scared of you.”

Cronus’ arm shot out and he plunged it right through Apollo's chest, ripping his heart out and crushing it in the same instant. The god blinked twice, an absolute look of shock on his face, and then he collapsed.

Holy motherfucker.
