"Fuck," she whimpered, unable to remain silent. She was so wet and sensitive that his light caresses were making her shake.

After a few more strokes, Tenebrys moved his hand away, and she wanted to beg him to keep going. He gripped her thighs in either hand, bent his head, and licked her with his long tongue.

"Oh gods, oh gods," Delphi panted, her hands flying to grip the horns on top of his head.

Tenebrys purred against her, sending rolling vibrations against her clit. Delphi wasn't going to survive whatever he was doing. The few men who had given her head before never made it feel like this. Her skin was burning hot, and she was wetter than she had been in her life. She had fooled herself into thinking it was some kind of twisted magic in the dream that made her react to him. She was wrong. It was justhim.

Tenebrys didn't slow his exploration of her or stop for a moment. He licked her like she was the best thing he had ever tasted in his life, and he would do it for hours if she let him.

Delphi was making needy noises she would be embarrassed about later, but she couldn't hold them in. Tenebrys's tongue thrust into her pussy, and she cried out, her hands clutching tightly his horns while she shattered beneath him.

His eyes glowed with a smug kind of male satisfaction before continuing, not giving her a second to recover before he was back to teasing her clit. His thick finger replaced his tongue and thrust easily into her, meeting no resistance.

Delphi was sobbing, overwhelmed by the rush of sensation. Tenebrys was careful of his fangs, but when the smooth side of them rubbed over her clit she erupted in another orgasm, screaming his name at the shining moon above her.

"Can't...take more," she panted, running her hands in his mane and over his velvet ears. Tenebrys kissed her thigh down to her knee before letting her go. Delphi sat up and reached for his pants.

Tenebrys caught her hands. "No."

"No? I don't understand. You saved me. This is the least I can do to thank you," she said, looking down at the thick bulge in his pants. He clearly wanted her, so why wouldn't he let her touch him?

"What happens between us will not be transactional," he growled softly.

Delphi shrank in on herself. "Men never do something nice for nothing."

Tenebrys lifted her chin and looked her in the eyes. "I'mnota man, and I don't want to be thanked like this."

Without another word, he lifted her up off the ground and nestled her in his arms.

Delphi put her arms around his neck as best she could and rested her head against his shoulder. She was confused and exhausted, and he was so warm.

"Thank you for coming to rescue me," she whispered, fighting the tears that were burning her eyes.

Tenebrys made an irritated sound, his grip tightening on her. "You are mine. The fucking fae can't have you."

Delphi held onto him a little tighter, too, suddenly relieved that he was so possessive of her. He had been trying to keep her safe that night by warning her to stay inside. She had been so caught up in her own head that she hadn't remembered what he had said about the fae coming through the gateways easier on a full moon.

A part of her still didn't want to believe the fae existed. They had wanted to take her back to some lord, and if it hadn't been for Tenebrys, she would have already been through a gateway and in Faerie by now.

"I'm…so sorry," she said, meaning every word. Something inside finally cracked her open, and she sobbed. She hadn't cried in a long time, but she couldn't hold it back anymore.

All the years of abuse from Narcisse and the way he had used her, the fear of her own magic, almost being indentured to Louis, and the horror of learning what her parents had done to Tenebrys. It was too much to keep inside her anymore.

Delphi tangled her fingers in his mane. "I'm so sorry for everything that my parents did to you. You deserve your revenge on him and the suffering he caused you. I'm sorry for everything."

Tenebrys could have left her to die or be taken by the fae to a fate more horrible than she could imagine. He hadn't. For the first time in her life, someone had protected her, and it tore her apart.

"Don't cry. You're safe now, little flower," Tenebrys said gruffly and rubbed his nose on the top of her head. It just made her cry harder.

Delphi didn't take a full breath until they were walking back through the doors of the château. Instead of him taking her back to her rooms, Tenebrys kept walking.

They wound up a wide set of stone stairs, down another long hall, and into a set of chambers. They smelled like him, and without needing to see in the dark, Delphi knew they were in his rooms. He put her down on a huge bed.

"I can go back to my rooms. I have already bothered you enough tonight," Delphi began, but Tenebrys snarled and climbed in beside her. He pulled her cloak off and dragged her up against him. One muscular thigh went between hers, pinning her in place. There would be no getting away from him until he wanted to let her go.

Delphi's tears and adrenaline had worn off, leaving her hollow and aching. She didn't want to be alone. She was still scared of the threats the fae made.

Witch fire. What did that mean?
