I roll his balls in my fingers, pulling another moan of pleasure out of him. “Oh, my. I think I must inspect the goods, boss.”
He makes a sound between a snort and a growl. “Don’t play with fire, Tommy. We don’t have time.”
“This is an emergency. Extenuating circumstances.”
He raises an eyebrow, ruffling my hair. The way his hand rakes through the strands feels heavenly. “In the middle of the forest while gods know where our enemies are? I don’t think so.” He clasps my hand and pulls it away from his dick, bringing it to his mouth and placing a kiss on my knuckles. “We lost enough time. And I can wait. We need to go.”
Still holding my hand, he sets off, leading us away from the clearing and into the woods. I have to kind of jog in order to keep up.
“But you—Me… You gave me a blowjob!” I protest, pursing my lips even though I know he can’t see me. “It’s not fair! I wanted to suck your dick first!”
Hethrows me an over the shoulder look, his pretty brown eyes flickering with delight. “I couldn’t resist. Blame it on the adrenaline rush. Plus, you were too damn cute.”
“Excuse me? How are those acceptable reasons? What aboutmyadrenaline rush and how fucking sexyyouare?”
We argue back and forth as he guides us through the trees, agreeing that as soon as we catch a break, he’ll let me blow his mind with my mouth.
“Hey, do you even know which way we are going?” I ask as we pass by the same-looking crooked tree for the fourth time.
He halts, hanging his head back, and he studies the tree crowns. “I… Yeah, I thought so. I saw the border wall when we jumped. It’s that way.” He points in the direction we came from. “I don’t know exactly where we landed, but there is a small river over there.”
I follow his gaze, only now noticing the trickling noise and the faint gleam of the water. It’s the tiniest creek, and I wonder how he even spotted it.
“I bet there is a town or a village where the water leads. We’ll orient ourselves from there.”
“Can’t we just use your phone for directions?” I suggest, falling back in pace as he starts up again.
He shakes his head. “I tossed it, way back. Safer that way.”
Oh, good point. If we have no phone, we’ll be harder to track.
Despite walking until the sun begins to set, we don’t get lucky. A village is nowhere to be seen. Niko finds us a spot for the night by some cliffs, away from the riverwe’ve been following. We take turns sleeping on the hard ground.
The sameness of the forest around us continues on the next day, but we finally make it back to civilization. The houses we pass look like they’ve seen better days, but at least we are no longer wandering in the wilderness. I don’t notice it at first, but people are staring at us as we make our way to the village center, where we find a tiny shop. Thank fuck.
We enter and I freeze as a realization crashes into me—we can’t expect everyone in the world to know English, but I don’t speak Spanish.
“Hey, Niko…”
But Niko is not listening and neither does he look at all troubled. Nah. He’s having a full-on conversation in Spanish with the shop’s clerk. The woman laughs after he says something, patting him on the shoulder the way a grandma would if her grandson did good at school. She’s maybe in her sixties, but that doesn’t stop her from sporting a bright yellow and red dress with a flower pattern and an orange vest over it. And she’s pulling it off like a boss.
Niko says something when she stops laughing, angling his body my way and tilting his chin. The woman levels me with her blue eyes, scrutinizing me from head to toe. Then she winks at me and disappears behind the curtain separating the shop from what must be a storage area.
Blinking, I shift my attention to Niko, who props his ass on the table with the cash register. A variety of snacks and some chocolate with red price tags are displayed around it, probably items with a discount.
“So, you speak Spanish. What did she say?” I prompt.
“Mhm.” Niko grins. “She’s getting some stuff for us, and a phone, so I can call my friend.”
A weight I didn’t realize I was even carrying lifts off my shoulders. My legs attempt to betray me, but luckily, I’m close to a shelf full of soda and grab onto it. “Shit. I’m so glad.”
Niko hops down from the edge of the table and walks over to me. His hand strokes my head and then pulls me into him effortlessly. I breathe him in—he smells like sweat, dirt and trees—and wrap my arms around him. Just a little more and we’ll be safe with his friend. And then, if I am lucky, this whole mess will be over.
A throat clears, pushing us apart. Oh shit, I got carried away. A flush takes over my face, but Niko smirks at the woman, says something, and pulls me back to his chest, kissing the top of my head. She laughs, the sound full of fondness, and waves him off after placing a change of clothes next to the cash register.
“Those are for you, Tommy. They should be your size.”
I eye the pile, excitement bubbling up inside me. I could really use a change of clothes. A shower too, but I guess that one will have to wait.
