Noah’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he managed not to blush. “I pride myself as quite athletic,” he countered, arching an eyebrow in challenge.

“You certainly have great endurance.”

“Yes, I do.” Noah dropped his gaze to Reign’s mouth for moment, then took in the rest of Reign, jutting his tongue out ever so slightly and running it over his lips “Amongst other things.”

Ah, was the devil trying to seduce Reign in public? How exhilarating, especially considering Teresa was already headed in their direction.

Picking up a glass of wine, Reign crossed into Noah’s personal space. “Teresa’s coming this way,” he whispered, then raised his voice, “perhaps you should give me a tour of the embassy, Mr. Araya?”

“What a great idea, Mr. Lennox.” There it was again, that provocative and punctuated way in which Noah pronounced Reign’s name as if it was his life’s goal to give Reign an erection in public. “And perhaps you could give me a tour of the Foreign Affairs’ office?” he asked casually, as if the idea had just occurred to him.

Reign took a sip from his wine, allowing the appropriate, thoughtful pause to ensue. “I suppose that would only be fair. How does the last Friday of the month sound?”

Noah pulled out his phone and pretend-checked his schedule. “It works for me.”

Timing the exact moment Teresa passed by them, Reign stepped back and bumped into her. “Ah, excuse me,” he said, turning around. “Madame Teresa. Apologies, I didn’t notice there was someone behind me.” He gave her that smile he knew worked best on humans, earning himself a girl-like giggle that caused the wrinkles around her mouth and eyes to turn more prominent. “I hope you are enjoying yourself tonight.”

“I most certainly am, Mr. Lennox.” She glanced from him to Noah, gaze darkening. Growing hungry and calculating. “How about yourself?”

“I seem to have won myself a tour of your astonishing building,” Reign said, giving her just enough so she would follow up.

“Oh? You did?”

“Mr. Araya will accommodate it in exchange for me showing him around the Foreign Affairs office at the end of the month. It just so happens that Trevor will be back by then, so I’m sure he won’t resist showing off some of our computer systems as well.”

She lit up, pleased beyond measure. “Splendid! Our Noah is always talking about this computer stuff, so I’m sure he’ll have a great time chatting with Trevor. Just make sure you don’t leave them unsupervised or Trevor might try to recruit him,” she laughed, giving Reign’s arm a quick squeeze and tilting her chin at Noah. “This young man can be a little absentminded so I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up agreeing by mistake!”

“Teresa! That is not true!” Noah protested, sounding appropriately playfully offended.

“Rest assured, Madame,” Reign cut in. “I will personally take care of Mr. Araya.”

Teresa laughed again, a high-pitched sound that Reign thought would most certainly fit that made-up image of Hell the Church liked to spread. “Lovely! Well boys, I’ll let you do your tour then. Just, Noah, dear, make sure you stay clear of the tech and security area. That is off-limits to visitors.”

“Of course,” Noah chirped back.

Teresa waved at the Empire’s ambassador and sauntered his way, joining him and the rest of his companions by the angel statue in the middle. True to Church tradition, it was an opulent piece of enviable craftsmanship, which meant that it probably cost a lot more than the building itself.

“Mr. Lennox, if you’ll follow me,” Noah said, his tenor voice interrupting Reign’s evaluation.

Reign followed him through the crowd to a set of smaller oak doors that opened into an ostentatious corridor with golden accents along its white walls and red carpets. They remained quiet until the cackle of music and conversation died down as they entered a fancy restroom.

“Reign!” Noah put his hands on his hips.

“What is it, Noah?” Reign drawled, knowing what the human was about to reprimand him for, but wanting to hear it nonetheless.

“Really?” he huffed out. “I willpersonallytake care of Mr. Araya?”

“You’ve been looking at me as if you want me naked and with my mouth around your cock since the moment I walked in, Noah. Despite where we are.”

Noah did flush, though it wasn’t because of embarrassment. It was heat, desire, potent enough so Reign could feel it engulf him. It caused shivers under his skin, sparks along his neck, and tightness in his abs.

“I wasn’t looking at you likethat,” Noah protested without really meaning it. “I was trying to get your attention.”

With a fluid spin on his heel, Reign pinned Noah against the mirrored wall, pressing his hardness against Noah’s. “Semantics. Now that you do have myfullattention, what are you going to do with it?”

Noah clutched Reign’s shirt with both hands and took a deep breath, his eyes fluttering closed when Reign leaned in and sucked on the jugular of his neck.

“Reign…” he moaned softly, stirring up even more lust within Reign. “Later. There are cameras everywhere. They’ll bust us if we take too long here.”
