I turned my head slightly and glanced around, my brows pullin’ together when I ain’t see Kay’Lo nowhere. The bed still smelled like him, the sheets still warm from his body but he wasn’t in it.

I pushed myself up a lil’, the sheet slidin’ down just enough to expose more of my back, and I was just about to swing my legs over the side when I heard the door open behind me.

I turned my head over my shoulder, my hair fallin’ across my face, and that’s when I saw my man.

Kay’Lo walked in lookin’ good as hell, shirtless with his cream-colored sweatpants hangin’ low. In his hands was a big tray loaded down with food, and my eyes dropped straight to it soon as I saw everything stacked up on there, ’cause he ain’t come in playin’ at all.

It was a whole spread sittin’ on the tray with thick pancakes stacked high with butter meltin’ down the sides, golden waffles dusted with sugar, scrambled eggs soft and cheesy, crispy bacon laid across the plate, sausage links glistenin’, and a bowl of fresh fruit with strawberries, pineapple, and mango cut up perfectly. He even had croissants, flaky as hell, with butter and jam sittin’ on the side, and a bowl of grits with cheese melted all through it.

It was food to feed both of us and then some, and I was still lookin’ it over when Kay’Lo walked around the bed and set the tray right in front of me like he been plannin’ this the wholetime. Before I could even open my mouth to say anything, he leaned in close with one hand bracin’ on the mattress while his lips met mine slow, pressin’ into me with that same deep kiss.

“Good mornin’, baby,” he murmured against my mouth, his voice low and smooth. “How you sleep?”

I let out a soft laugh, still a lil’ out of it while I looked at him. “Like you was tryna kill me last night… that’s how I slept.”

That smirk pulled right at his mouth.

“I did what I was supposed to do,” he said, calm as hell.

I shook my head, smilin’ while I pushed myself up a lil’ more, pullin’ the sheet up just enough to cover myself. “What time is it? It feel like I done slept all day.”

“You did,” he said like it wasn’t nothin’. “I wasn’t wakin’ you up either.”

Before I could say anything else, he turned and walked right back out the room.

I sat here for a second, watchin’ him leave, then looked back at the food again like… yeah, he really did that.

He came back in a second later with a bottle of champagne and a glass pitcher full of orange juice in his hand, movin’ like this was just regular for him.

He set it down, grabbed two glasses, and fixed mine first, pourin’ it just right before handin’ it to me. Then he made his own.

After that, he leaned over to the nightstand beside him and grabbed the thick joint he had already rolled, bringin’ it to his lips while he flicked the lighter and lit it. He took a few slow pulls, lettin’ the smoke sit for a second before breathin’ it out, then leaned forward toward me and held it out, waitin’ on me to take it.

I reached for it, but that’s when my eyes caught somethin’ on my hand and I froze for a second, my fingers hoverin’ in the air while I looked down at my ring finger like I was trippin’. Iblinked once, then looked again, turnin’ my hand just a lil’ so the light could hit it better, and that’s when it really clicked for me that I wasn’t seein’ things.

It was another ring.

And not just any ring either, this one was big as hell, sittin’ heavy on my finger and catchin’ the light in a way that made it impossible to ignore. It was even bigger than the last two Kay’Lo already gave me, and for a second, I just looked at it, tryna figure out when the hell he even put it on me. For a second, I ain’t even say nothin’. I just stared at it, tryna remember when the hell he even did this.

Slowly, I lifted my eyes up to him.

He was leaned back against the headboard now with one arm stretched out and the joint sittin’ between his fingers while he watched me with that same lil’ smirk like he already knew I was finna lose it.

“Kay’Lo…” I said low.

He tilted his head just a lil’. “You like it?”

I moved quick, climbin’ over to him and grabbin’ his face, kissin’ all over him, his cheeks, his lips, his jaw, not even knowin’ where to start.

“Baby… I just got used to my last ring,” I said, while I kept kissin’ him. “I already fell in love with that one.”

He smirked, his hands comin’ up to my waist, holdin’ me in place. “Then fall in love with this one too,” he said smooth. “You got options now… whatever mood you in.”

I pulled back just enough to look at him, my hand still up, starin’ at my new ring again.

“I love you so much,” I told him, meanin’ that shit.

He leaned in and kissed me again, slower this time. “I love you too, baby.”
