I cover her footprints with mine. Honey permeates the air as her hair whips in the wind. Her backside consists of the most impressive hills you’ve ever seen. Everything about her makes her the most delectable prey.

A predator is only a breath behind her, and she doesn’t expect a thing.

Then she stops, about to turn.

Crap,I spoke too soon.

I leap for the branch above me and hoist myself up.

Jay thinks she’s caught me when she whips around, but I’ve vanished.

I love it when she’s scared.

I drop down behind her, as quiet as I went up.

I scan her body up and down—all of her voluptuous curves. The hairs on the back of her neck stand and goosebumps pepper her skin as she senses me watching her. When she registers someone is behind her, she spins around and gasps at the sight of me.

“Going somewhere?” I pounce on her, grabbing the back of her neck like the dog she is, I drag her with me back to camp.

Like a child, she goes deadweight on me, dragging her feet.

“You don’t want to walk? Fine.” I bend down, scoop her up and throw her over my shoulder.

“Put me down!”

“Keep it up. I like it when my prey screams.” I chuckle.

I thought my suggestive comment would deter her because her screams do, in fact, make me hard, but instead, she continues.

“If you do anything to me, I’ll make you regret it. If you so much as touch me, I’ll cut your dick off, I swear.”

“You know what? I’m glad you ran. Now I have a reason to tie you up. I bet you’re much more fun that way.”

Jay groans and squirms.

“It’s like youwantme to punish you,” I strain. “You’re a little masochist, aren’t you? Why else would you challenge my men, starve yourself and risk your life to escape?”

“I don’t know. Maybe I enjoy my freedom. Now put me down!”

Not liking her tone, I smack her ass. “If it’s pain you’re seeking, I’ve got plenty to give .”

Several curse words later, we finally make it back to camp. I set her down, and she immediately tries to run from me again.

“Hey there,” I grab hold of her hips and jerk her back into me. “Where do you think you’re going?” I sit, pulling her down with me, so she’s sitting in my lap. Suddenly, I reach around, grabbing her neck just under her chin and pull her back against my chest and whisper in her ear, “The only way I’m ever letting you go is through your death.”

Chapter SIX

Jay

See,thisis why I don’t trust people. I don’t know why I thought Caleb would be any different. I should’ve known. They’re all privileged assholes. Spoiled and ungrateful who don’t care about anyone but themselves.

If he’s going to execute me anyway, why not let me keep the damn photo? Because hewantedto hurt me and strip me of everything. His intentions were malicious.

He said he would imprison, not execute,my wolf corrects me.

And you believe him?I snort.

He looked directly into my eyes, saw how important it was to me and destroyed it anyway. Without a second thought. It had been so easy for him to hurt me.
