“Eden Summers, from the moment I first saw you nearly three years ago, I have wanted you.I wanted to get to know you, but we all know what happened. That Valentine’s Day, I saw Mac and Hilary, and I did attempt to stop them, but I didn’t try too hard.I wanted you to find them.I wanted you to know the truth, and if it hurt you, I am sorry. The last thing I ever wanted to do was hurt you. You’re the love of my life, and I want to spend the rest of my life loving you.I want to marry you. There are no other women for me.You can ask all the guys here, I am loyal.I will dedicate myself to you.I’ll still have the club, and you will have to take all of me, as I am.There will be things I can’t tell you.Bad shit that I am just going to need you to deal with. It’s going to be an amazing ride, long and hard, but fun and passionate.”He was rambling.
This was nothing like the speech he had prepared, and one look toward Maeve, and she was wincing at just how badly he was proposing.
“I know I’m not making this sound ideal. It probably sounds like complete and total shit, and I am sorry for that.”He laughed and then let out a breath.“I ...uh, I want to live my life with you.I’m in love with you, Eden.Have been from that first glance and every day it is getting stronger.I want to grow old with you.”
“Yes,” Eden said.
“What?”
“If that is an engagement ring and you’re attempting to propose to me, then yes, I will marry you, Razor.”
“Dude, you didn’t even get to the question,” Savage said.
“Shit, fuck, Eden, will you marry me?”he asked. He had never been so nervous in his life and Eden burst out laughing.
“Yes, I will marry you, and yes, I love you more than anything.”
He took the ring out of the box, slid it right onto her finger, and it was a perfect fit, just as he knew it would be.He had taken a guess at her size.
Letting go of her hand, he cupped her face and tilted her head back.“I have not, nor have I ever used you. You’re everything to me.”
“I’m so sorry for not telling you.”
“Then we agree, from this day forward, you tell me everything,” he said.“You don’t keep that shit to yourself.”
“Agreed.”
He kissed her, hard.
“You planned all of this for me?”Eden asked.
“Yes, and Maeve helped.”
He watched Eden turn toward her sister.
“Is that why you two have been so secretive?”Eden asked.
“Don’t know what you mean.”He winked toward Maeve.
Eden laughed.“You know, you two are not as clever as you think you are.The way you two were intensely talking and then would go completely silent.”
“I wanted you to have the best, and I knew I could help with that,” Maeve said.
He let Eden go so she could hug her sister. He looked toward Doc.“I’ll go and fix that.”
Doc nodded.
Razor made his way outside to find Mac alone, next to a trash can filled with a glowing fire, drinking a beer.Neither of them spoke as Razor sat next to him.
“Do you want to talk about it?”Razor asked.
“Fuck, no.”Mac shook his head.“You’re right.I’m an asshole.I never loved Eden.I never even liked her.I don’t even fucking know why I asked her out, but it was a mistake, and then it just became this whole big thing.I figured she would dump my ass eventually.I’m totally fucked. There is no logic to how I think.”
“Are we good?”Razor asked.
“We’re good.”Mac snorted.“No offense, but I wouldn’t let a piece of pussy come between us.”
“She’s going to be my wife.Don’t talk about her pussy again.”He got to his feet and held his hand out, which Mac took, and they shook hands.
