It was time to get back on his bike, and this time they headed into town, and he only had one destination in mind—the diner. They served amazing breakfast, and he could really do with their breakfast sausage, stacks of pancakes, eggs, the works.

“You’re still nervous?”he asked, as Eden tentatively put her arms around his waist.

“It’s daylight.”

He laughed.“You know that is supposed to mean I drive a little safer?”

“It does?”

“Yeah, I can get caught during the day.”

“I hate to break it to you, but you can get caught at night too.”

“No such thing. You think Sheriff Hayes is wasting valuable money to patrol the streets?”He was not about to tell her that any trouble after dark was at the mercy of the Chaos Monsters MC.

Sheriff Hayes was called for official police business, but if they saw anything suspicious, they were able to do whatever the fuck they wanted. So far, in Rivermont Ridge, nothing bad had happened, but that was mainly because they stopped it in its tracks. If anything bad happened, it tended to be related to the club, and seeing as they were not in town but on the outskirts, trouble never found the town.

Eden didn’t ask any more questions, and he took off out of the clubhouse and started to make his way into town.

The journey from the clubhouse to town wasn’t a long one, but it was beautiful. The scenery was breathtaking, certainly in the morning when the sun was coming up.There were a few times he had gotten up early just to take a few moments to appreciate the sunrise.Rivermont Ridge was a beautiful town, but even still, it wasn’t without its bad seeds.

Arriving in town, he saw it was already busy, and for a Saturday morning, that was to be expected. He parked his bike outside the front of the diner, and then he waited for Eden to climb off.He saw her legs were already turning to jelly, and he quickly got off and grabbed her hips.It always helped to keep moving.

They stepped into the overcrowded diner, and thankfully, conversations didn’t stop when people caught sight of them. There was no reason for them to stop talking. It wasn’t like he and the club stayed to themselves. They ventured into town, invested in several of the businesses. He was aware there were a lot of guys who loved their strip club.It pulled in a fortune. Then there was the main bar as well.

When they first took over from the previous owners who were looking to sell because they had run it into the ground, the locals had attempted to stop it.There was no one able to afford the debt the bar came with. The club was able to settle the debt, take over the bar, turn it into something profitable, and every single day, apart from main holidays, it was open for business.

Doc, being a father, didn’t like to open the main bar or the strip club, as he felt it would be an excuse for families to suffer on holidays.Even though the club had tried to vote against it, Doc wouldn’t budge. He made the final decision.

There was a lot of shit in Doc’s past, which none of them knew about. He wasn’t going to argue for the bars to be open, seeing as one of them was going to have to work there if they were.

There was a small table left, and he held onto Eden’s hand and pulled out a chair for her to sit on.

“Well, thank you,” she said.

He leaned down and kissed her cheek.“You’re welcome.”

Her cheeks were a delightful shade of red.He was happy that he could make her blush. She picked up her menu and started to glance through it.

“You’re not going to see what you want?”she asked.

“I already know my order.”

“You come here a lot?”

“Most mornings.”

She put down her menu.“So, what do you think is good here?”

“Besides the woman sitting opposite me, I’d say the breakfast sausage, scrambled eggs, secret sauce, which I think is personally warm maple syrup with a hint of vanilla. The waffles, pancakes, and if that doesn’t appeal, the breakfast burger.”

“Wow,” Eden said.

He winked at her and she went a deeper shade of red.“You’re not used to taking compliments, are you?”

She shrugged and seemed to squirm.

There was no time to delve into that, as a new waitress came over. She looked young, and he hadn’t seen her before.Charlotte usually worked at the diner on Saturday, much to her father’s irritation, but this was not Charlotte.
