“I can’t believe you’re talking about farting. This is supposed to be a date.”

“And it is a date.Trust me, this is all date material.I expect you’re going to fart, and trust me, I’m going to fart.”

He was attempting to lighten the mood, to ease her mind after being in the main clubhouse. He was aware how overwhelming it could be for a lot of people.

Taking a sip of his beer, he saw the stress leave her face, and the smile lightened his whole freaking world.

“Did you like the ride?”he asked.

“Yeah, I loved it.So, tell me, Razor, how did you get to become a member of the Chaos Monsters MC?”she asked.

He knew there was nothing bad in her question.

“A lot of hard work,” he said.

“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”

He shrugged.“There’s not a lot to tell.Where I come from, I saw some pretty dark shit.My mom was an addict, and she was more interested in getting her next score.A revolving door of men would use her, and sometimes they wouldn’t even pay her.I didn’t have a good life, babe.”

“I’m so sorry.”

“Don’t be.I know it wasn’t the best start for a kid to have, but I don’t look back or do any of that blaming shit.I just move on.There is no point in looking to the past.”

“I get it.”

“I know about your parents as well.I am sorry about that.”

“Yeah, they were good people. They worked a lot and were rarely home, but they wanted the best for their kids.”Eden sighed.“Maeve and I decided not to keep the house. We felt it would be too hard for us to move on.It kind of sucks, to be honest, because we didn’t feel any different after they died.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, we felt sad.I was heartbroken, we both were, but we lived alone and as the weeks went by, we realized it was no different from when they were alive. They worked a lot. It’s why we make sure we take breaks, and we have time for life, you know?Although, I’m doing good at that, and Maeve is not doing as well. She is always in constant demand, and she’s not great at saying no.”

He loved that she was opening up to him.

“Do you love what you do?”

“Sometimes yes, and sometimes no.I’m good at what I do.Do you like doing what you do?”she asked.

“Yeah, I do.Even if I think at times Sheriff Hayes uses us.”

“I did notice at the fair that you guys were all placed like police officers.Did you even get paid to work security at the fair?”she asked.

“Not a chance. He wouldn’t pay us.”They had other arrangements, like him looking the other way when they needed to move shit.

“Can you even tell me what you do?”

“Eden, it’s not ...good.Not all of it, and you’re not ready for that.”

“Try me?”she asked.“I might surprise you.”

“Okay, well, we have a couple of businesses in town, as you know. The bar, the strip club.We also own the mechanic shop and the launderette.”

“The launderette?”

“Yeah, you’d be surprised what a killing that place makes.”

Eden laughed.
