Pink swirled around us. I leaned down, scooping under her torso to drag her to me, kissing her over and over, my tongue and lips and shared Empathy telling her everything I’d never be able to articulate. How much I needed her—neededus. I pulled out an inch before plunging my cock back into her, making her groan against my lips. When I lifted my head, she brushed the strands of my hair away from my eyes.

“I think all the designs will need to be officially tested—for quality assurance purposes, of course. Don’t you agree?” I exhaled with a smile.

“Yes.” She nodded, attention flitting to the rack full of clothes behind us.

“Grab something else and get right back here,” I said, slowly easing out of her. Then I helped her off of the hood before giving her ass a gentle smack. Oakley strode over to the lingerie, the sight of me streaking her inner thighs making me groan and palm my cock, growing hard again.

She quickly slipped on a sheer black corset with a matching G-string, not once moving to wipe between her legs. When she returned, I drew a constellation of kisses along her neck.

“That’s my witch.”

I hopped onto the hood and then lifted her on top of me. When she sank onto my cock, my earlier release coated her as she slid up and down my shaft. Her eyes were soft, never leaving mine, a cloud of pink enveloping us both.

“What does the pink mean?” she asked, gaze drifting above my head.

“It means I’m yours, Wicked.” I clasped her hands, bringing them to my chest and holding them there. “And I’m never letting you go.”

Atlas

After pushing the crib against the jet-black wall, I stepped back, ensuring it was centered within the nursery. Silhouetted treetops poked up from the carpet with dragons hovering above them, flying among the clouds. Then I nudged the crib a few inches to the right and reappraised the room.

Toadstool seats peppered the reading nook, an open hollow tree installed into the corner with books flitting within its bark. It’d taken me three tries to get the enchantment to work.

Worth it.

Some of the books were new ones I’d picked up at the local shop, others were yellowed, crumpled around the edges from the years—books from my own childhood. An old set of intricately patterned fairy wings hung from the wall, a family heirloom.

I was used to growing up with busy parents, busy grandparents, but I had so many fond memories of story times nestled up in my bedroom, staring up at those wings.

Now I’d be able to do the same thing with my son. Something I’d dreamed about since even before learning of Oakley’s pregnancy. Of course, in my visions she was here with me, Aspen tucked between us as we regaled him with our favorite stories like “Goodnight Moon Goddess” or “The Little Hearse that Could.”

Even though she’d made it clear that we couldn’t be together romantically, I’d hold out hope until my dying day that she’d come around. In the meantime, I was grateful to be closer to her and our son, to make memories together, even if those memories were all G-rated and revolved around giving Aspen everything he deserved.

A flash of gray passed the door. I’d nearly forgotten the servicemen were still here. It’d been two hours of them getting the house adjusted per my very specific instructions.

I stole another glance of the room before following their project head, a greed demon named Walt, down the hallway, spotting a few other supernaturals working around the house. When Walt noticed the sound of my footsteps, he turned around, clipboard held tightly in his blueish-tinged hand.

It made sense his kind would want to work for Pierce Protections. There was good money in it, and he would be making a fair share of house calls with how rapidly the company was doing installations.

“Are you almost done?”

“Yes.” Walt scanned over the checklist on his clipboard. “We’ve babyproofed the lower level and most of this one. Just have a few more spots to do, like the cabinets and staircase.”

“And you checked on the system as well? Made sure it’s up to date?”

“We did. This was one of the first systems we installed. It’s got all the bells and whistles and now the additions you’ve requested.” He flipped through the screen on his phone until he came to one with bars lit up at different levels, but I couldn’t make out the labels from where I stood. “However, since the house monitors itself for any issues so it can self-repair and learn your preferences, it does take some time for that to take effect.”

“Learn?” Just when you thought you understood magic, it’d find a way to surprise you.

“Yes. You may have to cast it to your specifications manually, but within a few days it should be able to predict the temperature you want, when to light areas, turn the privacy glass off and on, etc.”

“How is that possible?” I walked over to the rectangular panel boasting about twenty buttons on the wall by the kitchen.

“Pierce Protections secret,” Walt replied with a slight lift of his brows.

He probably had no fucking clue. But Wade Pierce next door would——whenever he returned from his business trip. It made sense he traveled a lot, Pierce Protections had nearly serviced our entire street and had begun work on some of the others, including many in other supernatural districts.
