“Munch, baby.” I didn’t want to just pick her up and scare her. “Wake up for me, baby, so we can go home.”

She jumped, but when she realized it was me, she calmed down. I wrapped my arms around her and picked her up. I kissed her forehead, and we left the clubhouse.

I wasn’t sure who got it, but one of them had gotten Munch’s car from the grocery store. They even did something with the groceries.

I laid Munch on the back seat, since she had fallen asleep, and drove us home. I wasn’t worried about my bike, because I knew one of the guys would handle it for me.

My phone went off by the time I got down the street. The screen was cracked, but I could make out what the message said.

Dinner is done.

As I drove home, I was relieved that this shit was finally over with. That message was confirmation that the Disciples’ clubhouse was no longer standing. With the main leaders gone, I wasn’t worried about any of them trying to fuck with us. If they did, they could die too.

I’d been sleeping off and on since Kane brought me home. Every time I woke up, he was right there staring at me. He would kiss my forehead, then wrap his arms around me, and I’d fall right back to sleep.

“Hey.” I rubbed my finger between Kane’s eyebrows.

“Hey.” He smiled at me and kissed my forehead again. “How are you feeling?”

I shifted and put my arm around him.

“I feel a lot of things.” I paused. “I’m in some pain, but I’m glad all of this mess is over with. It is over, right?”

“Yes, baby. It’s over for real this time. Do you want me to get you something for pain?”

I shook my head. I was hurting, but I didn’t want to take anything. I hadn’t told Kane, but I’d suspected that I was pregnant. I hadn’t taken a test, and that was my plan before I got damn kidnapped. I wanted to take the test while the dinner cooked, and I would have told Kane when he came home. I didn’t expect to be kidnapped and beaten. I was relieved that they hadn’t done anything to me.

“Can you just hold me?”

“Of course.” He pulled me into his chest and rested his head on top of my head. I wasn’t sure how, but I had two French braids in my hair. I remembered seeing Carmen in the room when we were at the clubhouse, so I assumed she’d done it.

It was a good thing I had a spare pair of glasses, because my main ones were broken and left on the ground somewhere. I didn’t need them anyway, because I wasn’t going anywhere until I healed. I didn’t need anyone to see my bruised face. I didn’t even want to watch television, because I had a headache.

Kane’s cologne and the feel of his warm skin gave me so much comfort. I was so afraid I was going to die, and I thanked God I didn’t.

I heard Kane sniff, and I looked up.

“Baby.” I caught the tear that slipped from his eye.

“I was scared I was going to lose you, baby.” His voice cracked, and it broke my heart.

“I’m right here because you saved me.”

I pushed him onto his back and climbed on top of him.

“What are you doing, Munch?” he asked when I slipped my hands into his boxers.

I needed to feel that connection between us and to show him that I didn’t blame him for what happened.

I put my finger on his lips. When his dick was free, I slid down on it and kissed him. He held me close to him as I slowly rode him.

He groaned. “I’m sorry I didn’t protect you, baby.”

“It’s not your fault.”

He couldn’t control what other people did, and I was sure he thought it was over once Beast was out of the picture.

“Shit.” He gripped my hips and flipped us over.
