Kane smiled again, then got up. I followed his movements as he walked to the closet and came out with multiple bags.

I reached for the bags, but he moved his hand back. “Finish eating first, then you can see what’s in the bags.” He placed the bags on the bed but made sure I finished eating.

Besides the eggs, I had sausage patties and toast with a glass of orange juice. During one of our conversations, I told Kane I wasn’t a big breakfast eater, but he stressed that I needed to put something on my stomach every morning. The plate of food was enough for me. When I was done eating, Kane took the tray and put it on the dresser, while I tore through the bags.

In the bags were underclothes, jeans, leggings, and a couple of shirts. Of course, everything was blue since that was not only Viper colors, but Kane’s favorite color as well.

“Did you get this stuff while I was sleeping?” I asked as I laid a shirt and jeans on the bed. It was the outfit I settled on wearing for the day. Kane didn’t know, but I was going to take one of his hoodies from the closet.

“I did. I don’t want you out of my sight, at least not for today. I didn’t want to run the risk of you going home. Plus, I like the idea of you keeping some stuff here.” He shook his head. “I don’t know what you are doing to me, Munch. I’m ready to give you the whole closet if you want it.”

I pushed the clothes and the blanket to the side to get closer to him. I rubbed the top of his head, then the side of his neck where his tattoo was.

“Maybe not the whole side, but I’ll take up a little space. I feel comfortable here, and you know I am staying with my parents. I could use the break from them sometimes.”

“The door is always open for you. You can stay how often you want.” He kissed my forehead, then my lips. “Let’s get dressed so we can go.” He picked me up and carried me to the bathroom where we showered together before we got dressed.

Kane told me to choose between the Bronco and his bike, so I had chosen the Bronco. When I looked at it, I couldn’t believe how good of shape it was in.

“What year is this?” I asked as we rode down the highway.

“It’s a 1970. My dad and I did some work under the hood, but we tried to keep it as authentic as possible. I don’t drive it too often. Most of the time, I’m on my bike, but sometimes I like to take her out to get the engine going.”

“It’s beautiful,” I said as I rubbed the leather seat.

The interior was in such good condition; it looked like he’d just gotten it.

“Thanks. I’m glad you like it.” He turned toward me and winked.

“Where are we going?”

He placed his hand on my thigh and squeezed it. “We can go wherever you want to go, Munch.”

The top was off, and the windows were down since it had been such a nice day. A few clouds moved through the sky, and I prayed it didn’t end up raining.

I rubbed my hand over the back of his neck. “It doesn’t matter to me. As long as we are together.”

Kane glanced at me and shook his head.

“Why are you shaking your head?”

“Because I never thought I’d see the day.” I looked at him, but he continued. “I don’t do shit like this, Munch. Dates, caring about feelings, trying to make a woman happy, none of that. I was a fuck ’em and leave them type of guy. You made me look at things differently. Sometimes I can’t explain what it is about you, but I know I don’t want anyone else to experience you.”

“Well, thank you for putting in the effort to make me feel special.”

He slowed the truck down and leaned over to kiss me.

“Because you are, and I’m going to make sure you feel it every day.” He grabbed my hand and intertwined it with his, then lifted and kissed it.

There was an upgraded radio, so we listened to music while he drove. I felt relaxed being in Kane’s presence, and none of the other stuff mattered.

An hour later, we arrived at the beach. It was nice, but not nice enough for people to be in the water, but there were people on the boardwalk.

Kane found a parking spot, then helped me out of the truck. The clouds had increased, so he put the top back on just in case.

When he was finished, he grabbed my hand, and we walked toward the boardwalk.

“I want to say something before we get our date started.”
