There are a few half-hearted “woooo”s; Daisy preens.

Then Swiss turns deadly serious, in that instant mood shift he does. “You’re about to hear the final date for this week, and it won’t be long before the next tiara ceremony. I don’t think I have to remind you how very important this next ceremony is.The four women who move on will get to introduce their families to Preston.”

He claims he doesn’t need to remind us, but that’s clearly all he’s here for, because then he indicates for Bartholomew to read the date scroll. Meanwhile, the other women sit on the edge of the couch even more tensely than normal, as if hit hard by Swiss’s words. They’ve been talking nonstop the last few days about the importance of the family visit week.

Bartholomew does his grand announcement of what is, in fact, a group date. But it turns out to be a group date of three: Madison, Sheree, and Londyn.

They cheer and rush off to get ready, and Addison looks like she’s going to explode from sheer rage. Instead she channels it into doing a set of furious crunches right there on the lobby floor—which, if that’s her strategy, no wonder she lives in crop tops and bikinis.

“It’s so frustrating,” she says, huffing out short breaths between crunches. “I don’t think any of them are here for the right reasons.”

I slump back on the couch and wonder if any of us are, really.

I’m not sure I know what that means anymore.
